If Cleary scores, I'll say Tank You Berry Much, Sir.

That's as close as I'll come to that.

#2436463 Torts on Twitter: "most narcissistic thing I have ever seen"

So, I assume most peoples beef is with the use of the word "most".

I mean, lets be real here, twitter and facebook (and similar things) are very narcissistic.  99.9% of posts on those site don't say anything relevant or meaningful, its just people talking about themselves.

#2435810 Report: Cleary to sign with PHI, 3 yrs, $2.75m/yr, NTC

Posted by MidMichSteve on 11 September 2013 - 10:10 AM

He has the heart of a lion. I'll miss him and wish him the best of luck, except when playing against the Wings.

Cleary, who played for the Red Wings' 2008 Stanley Cup championship team, was Detroit's second-leading scorer in the playoffs last season with four goals among 10 points. He appeared in all 48 regular-season games, getting nine goals and six assists.

"He's a good player," Holland said. "We liked him. He was a versatile player. He was a vocal guy in the locker room. He could play left wing, right wing and he could play with star players. Dan gave us some years of real good hockey.

"We want to wish him well."

I hate them also.  They dive and I don't like their faces.
Why does hate have to be rational?

If you have to ask, then I'm afraid we can't help you

#2435760 Osgood to fill in Larry Murphy's job

Hope he remains as a goalie coach, still sad that Murphy was let go.

Great guy who'll be sorely missed. He really pulled out all the stops in this last playoff run and he was always a great locker room presence, seemed extremely well liked and banged the "Red Wings are the greatest organization ever" drum right up until the minute he left. Great contract (for him) and I wish him the best of luck!

EDIT: This would sting less if we didn't have all these older roster hangers-on like Samuelsson and Bertuzzi, who ironically were some of the players brought in over the last 3-4 years or so using the "Dan Cleary" theory (i.e. they sucked elsewhere, seemed washed up, but hopefully a stop here will turn things around).

#2435566 Osgood to fill in Larry Murphy's job

Murphy's job was as a color commentator and analyst.  At least, on paper.  But I think we all know his REAL "job" was to get fans excited about $1 hot dog night.  And no one could do that better than good ole' Murph.

Best of luck to Ozzie in his new venture.  I think he'll be great at this, though perhaps not as entertainingly as Murph...

You can ask questions here.  JIC, I already submitted your question!

I think we all called BS on that one.  We'll never know, unless someone kidnaps Murph or a FS exec and pumps them full of sodium pentothal.

Oh, pleasepleaseplease let me be the Murphnapper.

I looked back in the Murph got fired thread.  They said that they let him go because Mickey and Ken were going to be broadcasting the rest of the games so Murph would not be needed.

Obviously BS.

Not trying to turn this into a Murph thread, however.  (Ok- one more quick note:  In that thread, I had jokingly suggested Jenna Osgood to replace Murph.)

Ozzie has more of a subtle humour.  Obviously he knows the game and the Wings.  When he's between the glass he and Mickey should play well with each other.

I wonder if he'll keep on goal-coaching when the team's on the road.  Mickey didn't go on a lot of the longer trips for health reasons, but now that we're in the East, he probably won't need Ozzie to fill in in that capacity, so it pretty much leaves Ozzie for home games or if Ken or Mickey gets sick/can't make it.

Should be a fun time.  Bring on the hockey.

I hate that parents feel an immense need nowadays to overprotect their children, to the point where normal children games are being banned in schools, and a parent starts a protest about a school cause their kid scraped their damn knee. Get over it, boys will fight each other, play football, dodgeball, and insult each other, they are not china dolls, and a few scrapes and bruises won't kill them.

Also please take your kids damn ipads and cell phones away from them and make them go outside, please.

#2435448 Nashville Perds

We saw this on "Olbermann" and laughed our heads off.  This goes along with the "Figthing Irish" cups at Notre Dame.  And at least it's not the Pervs.  That could be rather embarassing.

First it was Mike Fisher getting bit by a chipmunk, and now this.  Nashville is in dire need of some decent PR.

Businesses who force their employees to plus sell should be inundated with complaints.

It's one thing to let a customer know about a sale, which I do all the time, or make a recommendation, but it's another to require that every sale involve a plus sell.  I hate plus selling when I'm a customer, and I hate doing it if it's not customer service when I'm on the other side of the counter.

Plus selling is annoying, but I know that people nowadays are forced to do it or be unemployed, so I don't take it out on them.  Where I work, if you get a "mystery shopper" and you don't sell, you are suspended for your next seven regularly-scheduled shifts.  Second offense, and you're terminated.

Fortunately, this is my part time gig.  I know who hates it and I don't do it to them.
