If reckless contact to the head was the reason for suspension why isn't Perry suspended for losing control of his skate and kicking Howard in the HEAD
I think it has to do with Howard being "just a Red Wing."
All I can say is, if the Wings are not furious and fired up to win by this latest travesty of so-called justice, then perhaps there's a reason they won't move on. They have to respond tomorrow on the ice, appropriately, by out-playing the classless Ducks and beating them, fair and square.
This means watching their hits, staying out of the box (legitimately - nothing much they can do about bad calls and non-calls), and giving Jimmy some help --- and some GOALS, for heaven's sake.
There really is no option, other than to go home with a whimper and allow this nonsense to happen to them. I think this team is better than that, personally.
Was just coming here to post this. Apparently he's there, but won't take the ice. Has "migraine and sore neck." According to the Ducks' radio color analyst, Lydman "not likely to play anytime soon."
I have a headache and sore neck, too. I'm not going to be playing either. BooBoo won't let him play, since the outcome of the decision from the NHL DC depends on pretty much on Lyman being maimed by the hit.
Again, coach is not stupid. It's like when someone is trying to get an insurance settlement for "whiplash" or some other less than obvious injury -- you don't go out dancing or to lift weights at the gym while waiting to get your reward.
It will certainly be interesting if he's just fine on Monday and is in the line up.
This will not surprise me at all.
If I were Babs, I would sit Abby for the series regardless of what the decision is from Shanny. Putting Abby back out there would just give Anaheim a righteous "reason" to take out Jimmy or Pasha... like, "the Wings DESERVED this!" Tell me this couldn't happen with tools like Perry leading the pack?
Re: the clip Axe posted: I love Nik Kronwall more than ever. And Hank. And I agree with them, that the hit wasn't even called for penalty until Lyman just laid there for a while. Guess this will be up to the politics of the game as it's played now.
I wear homer glasses most of the time with the Wings, but wonder if this had been Perry on one of our guys, if he wouldn't have just gotten 2 minutes, and done.
Wrap them all in bubble wrap. I wish Abby had stayed on his feet, but he didn't. So I can see Shanny having to give him something, if only because it looks like favoritism if he doesn't, as an ex-Wing.
Is Lyman actually injured? Just asking... not that it matters, but I think it factors in, right?
