I will never forget the look on his face and the emotion he displayed, when he talked in a video I saw, about how grateful he was to the Red Wings organization in 2005 for giving him a chance to play hockey in Detroit.
It stuck with me, how devoted he was to this team - he owes them and they will get his best, always. He's a heart and soul player and when healthy, as dependable as they come. I'm a big fan of Dan the Man.

It might take more than a dozen games for him to click back in. Different style here than KHL? Huddie will be OK... he knows what the inside of Babs' doghouse looks like - I am sure he doesn't care for the view.

Dom update:
2009-2010: Hašek signed a one-year contract with HC Moeller Pardubice, the club where he started his long career at age 15, as the youngest professional goaltender. He won Czech League championships with Pardubice in 1987 and 1989 (moved to the US, NHL in 1990).
In the 2009-10, season he again led his team to victory in the title match for the Czech league. Dom posted three shutouts in the playoffs, one in the finals. Pardubice lost only one game in the playoffs before posting twelve consecutive wins to take the title. They begged him to return, but he said with typical Dominik-logic, that he'd been there, done that.
2010-2011: Hasek signed a one-year contract with HC Spartak Moscow (KHL). They've had a bit of a rough year so far, firing the coach and scrambling the lines. Dom got a shut out opening night.
I hope to live long enough to see him inducted into the HHOF. Not sure he will ever actually retire for three years, though.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery to your brother. They say positive attitude makes a difference in recovering from major traumas like he's been through. The Wings can certainly provide that positive atmosphere, right?
I agree with Electrophile... people here ask me why I am so devoted to the Wings. This sort of story is exactly why... and dozens of other reasons which are just as positive. I am sure other clubs are just as generous and giving and thoughtful with fans and friends. But something about the culture of the Red Wings family and players is special.

Yay for Howard and Raffi (especially!) coming back. Big E, hope you are up to speed, we could realy benefit if you play well.
Ozzie... so sorry to hear that. He doesn't need this right now, as I felt like he was putting his game together. Once he got past the first, he played very well last game.
