Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.... and, yeah! I thought it was funny, and not directed at Jagr as mean-spirited. I hope Jagr thought it was funny, too.

It wasn't disrespectful to Jagr... and Rupp didn't do it right, besides, if that's what he was trying to do.

I don't think that was his intent, BTW.

That's not fair, he was bowled over by his own player and had no chance at that puck.
Not that I'm upset about that, mind you, but he really didn't have a chance.

excuse me? I edited my comment to say it was Bob, and I know he didn't have a chance. NBC staff said Bryz... I simply wondered why he was out there. He's not.

Jimmy Howard, and the 4th line. Stood tall while the rest of the team caught up early season. This entire team is solid, if you ask me.

They picked Nick because everyone else hates Perry and wouldn't get in the car with him. Nick is Perfect and untouchable, so he volunteered. Nick is also legitimately an All Star, Perry is not.

BTW, rocks are better actors than Ozzie and Drapes. Nick did OK. :P

#2239792 12/30 GDT : Red Wings 2 at Blackhawks 3

Big game tonight. Sadly, I'll have to miss at least the 1st.

:(

what's going on, Mike, do you have to work? I will watch them for you, no fear!!

Wings will come out firing on all cylinders and Chicago will have to really work for it if they get anything on us. If the last two games are any indication, the western Canada games made them unhappy with their efforts.

I was at the 12/26 Nashville Preds/Wings game -- and it might have been one of the best efforts I've seen from the Wings, collectively, this season. St. Louis, same thing. More please!! :P

so Commodore really does play for the Wings? I thought he was a figment of my roster-imagination.

Why isn't Ericsson sitting? Rhetorical question, and I don't normally jump on the player-bashing train, but he's a liability out there, on a given night.

#2238358 Jimmy Howard - "Iím just sick and tired of getting run over.

Posted by puckloo39 on 22 December 2011 - 03:21 PM

Anyone who knows me, knows my feelings about teams who let their goalie get taken out, game after game. Jimmy has the credibility at this point to call them out himself - and he should. No one is saying that our players should go beat down the other team's players who offend. But someone (don't ask me who) needs to make sure they're looking over their shoulders when they touch one of our goalies. There are ways players can police these sorts of things on the ice, without resorting to goon tactics. I just wish some of our current players had that type of mentality - which I believe they do not.

I miss Mac and Shanny and some of our less "elite" players like Duschene, who had the heart and passion to make sure no one took liberties with our goalies. If Jimmy has to channel Vernon and fight for his own safety out there, then the Wings should know they might have to figure out how to win games without him, when he's injured or sitting out a suspension.

It makes my blood boil when players run Jimmy and then get rewarded for it. :ranting:

#2238250 Stay classy Kesler

Posted by puckloo39 on 22 December 2011 - 09:49 AM

eh, Kesler has always been one of my non-Wing favorites, too. The Canucks have delusions of grandeur when it comes to their place in the NHL. Makes them say ridiculous things.

Kronner may not have more fights than Kesler, but he's got more Stanley Cups. Oh, well. :)

Kesler is a wanna-be

Datsyuk has more Selke's, too. Just sayin'.....
