#2379795 Shocking, Wings aren't active as trade deadline expires

Posted by Hutts11 on 03 April 2013 - 05:12 PM

I don't understand.  Another year and no big moves for the Wings, AGAIN.  I understand that Holland keeps saying we have good young talent, but when it comes down to it, we'll have young talet and then older players that are past their prime.  Pav, Hank, Mule, Kronner, are not getting any younger, and Pav may be gone after next season. Cleary, Samuelsson, and Bert are done(or should be) after this year.  Helm is a good young player with lots to prove still, but the past few seasons he has had major injuries that kept him out of games for a long period of time.

Holland also said that he wants to add another top 6 forward.  Well Mr. Holland, how come we didn't make any noise in the past few days in the trade market?

#2102770 Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended

OK, does this necessarily mean it's all over? Does this mean there can't be any more conversation/deals/negotiations right now or soon with the Red Wings?

We should trade Hudler for Nabby...

Like I said before, what a letdown it would be for Nabokov to think that he's going to the Wings and then get claimed by the Islanders.

I could totally see Nabby say screw it and go back to Russia if he is picked up by the Islanders. It's like playing for Chicago, why would anyone want to do that!?

#1887038 Babcock's days are numbered?

no

There is actually talk on here about Babcock should not be the red wings coach? If anyone knew anything about hockey, its a lot about chemistry. So lets see, there were 6 guys out at once, which is all kinds, it breaks up chemistry. Guys like Datsyuk and Zetterbergs numbers suffer because they don't have that chemistry.

On top of that, when you have to change every single line game in and game out due to injuries, its hard to get use to playing with new people. Then that suffers your production from all your lines. It's one big chain reaction.

Once everyone is back, and Stuart learns how to play some D and Ozzie gets back to his winning ways, The wings should be looking good before the playoffs and Babcock will be in Detroit for quite a few years.
