If Chuck plays Kris, it will take some serious special effects to have the boards damage his face rather than the reverse.

***this just in***

Former Red Wing Kirk Maltby has just shot down a corporate jet over Lake Michigan registered out of the greater Pittsburg area with a Russian military-spec shoulder fired rocket launcher. Ecklund reports that he's not sure what surprises him more; the incident or the fact that Maltby actually hit his target.

Maybe we just had the plane circle his house at low altitude for an hour or so to make sure he's crystal clear on our desire to sign him.

#2313589 Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running

Posted by Guest on 03 July 2012 - 12:57 PM

From a reliable source...Parise says he needs 2 months to think about the offers and then talk it over with his fiance. Suter needs more time to see what Zach is doing and then talk it over with his family. Then the Parise family and the Suter family may need all September to decide where the best place to live is. Right now Parise is awaiting word on what his dog wants him to do. Suter has a horse named Trotzie who is his also his best friend. Babs is currently in Minny as we speak negotiating with Trotzie to bring Suter to Detroit. This has been very tough on both Parise and Suter. This could drag on until October even and possibly even December. I am told by various sources of both the Suter's and the Parise's that it is so much more than the money in deciding where these 2 sign. Which teams can offer the best dressing room facilities? Which cities have the best restaurants? Mostly importantly though, and everything may hinge on this 1 criteria...which team's arena has the best free internet WIFI? I am told that THIS may be the key to getting both players. More to come...

George Malik provided a bit of clarification regarding Babcock in MSP...

Right. On the day rumored to be the day Parise (and thus maybe Suter) make up their minds, he just happens to be going home. Right when potential signees might want to meet with the coach he's headed out to the middle of nowhere, going AWOL. Something doesn't smell right with that story.

EDIT: He may very well be going home but I find it very hard to believe he's not making a pit stop first.

I can see Babs hiding behind a trash can in the airport and following Parise into the bathroom....locking him in a stall until he makes up his mind.

Red already looks good on one of them and mustard yellow doesn't on another.

#2312599 Wings may trade Johan Franzen for Rick Nash?

IF this happens the mule would be in absolute beast mode when he plays us.

Beast mode 6 games throughout the season sounds about right :P

#2311905 St. James: Wings have inquired about Rick Nash

Eklund says the wings are putting together a MEGA deal for Nash E4.

Well that just convinced me Detroit pulled out any offer they had for Nash and now have no interest what so ever.

#2308178 Zach Parise

2. Then you look at Detroit. Average prospects. 2 or 3 might turn into something but certainly won't be the caliber of a Datsyuk, Zetterberg or Lidstrom. Even if everything goes right with the prospects we currently have, we're still looking at a bunch of players who couldn't come close to standing up to the superstars that we have now. 3 straight years of early playoff exits, a core group with only 1 player under the age of 30, no 1st round pick this year, no Lidstrom.

1. Detroit's prospect pool > Minnesota's prospect pool
2. None of Minnesota's prospects will be the caliber of Datsyuk, Zetterberg, or Lidstrom
3. 4 straight years of not making the playoffs

#2307953 Red Wings make contract offer to D Justin Schultz

Posted by joesuffP on 19 June 2012 - 07:39 AM

I brought this up because people were saying a pairing of Schultz and Smith would be like Weber and Suter in 3 years... Which is ridiculous.. Last year Ericsson was more poised with the puck than Stuart and Kronwall and Ericsson has taken strides forward each year... If You people are expecting Smith to step in and play better than ericsson then you'ref****** high. Ericsson is by far our most undervalued player on this team...
