#2578905 Pulkkinen sent back to GR

Posted by shaeb30 on 04 March 2015 - 11:08 PM

I was at the game tonight... not to take ANYTHING away from his great performance tonight, but 2 of his 3 goals were standard saves for an NHL goalie. Not to mention his 3rd goal was an unscreened slapshot from a step inside the blue line, against a replacement goalie who had never seen the ice as a professional. He needs to continue to find new ways to use his booming shot.

Off topic a sec ... I just noticed grand rapids won 7-1 that would of been 4 shut outs in 6 games for mrazek right?

Also would have been 3 consecutive. He gave up a weak goal about 2 minutes into the game though. Recovered nicely though and made some really nice saves throughout the rest  of the game.

#2404243 22 Consecutive Playoff Appearances Recapped in 22 Minutes

Posted by shaeb30 on 13 May 2013 - 10:49 PM

Hey everyone, I don't post to the site very often, but I do visit almost everyday, and enjoy reading the insight posted by the folks who visit the site. I came across this video tonight that recaps the last 22 years of playoff appearances made by our beloved Red Wings, and felt the need to share with everybody in this hockey community. Hopefully you take the 22 minutes and 22 seconds (ironic, huh?) that it takes to watch the video in its entirety, and enjoy it as much as I did! Go Wings!

#2385265 Ryan White headshot on Kent Huskins

This guy has been a piece of garbage all the way back to his days as a AHLer with the Hamilton Bulldogs. My friends and I were at a Griffins game a couple years ago to celebrate my brothers return from Afghanistan, and after the game we were in the back parking lot waiting to meet more friends for a drink at McFadden's (a local bar behind the Van Andel Arena), when White made his appearanfe behind the building waiting for the team bus. He noticed us from being at the game, as our seats were right next to the penalty box, (which he had made 3 appearances in during the course of the game), and he proceeded to walk around the gate and confront us to our faces, saying we were "school girl b*itches for rocking face paint and Griffs garb for the game. Told us he would personally find where we lived and be sure to blow the ashes of what was left of our homes in our faces. Dude has always been a real "class act".

Typing from phone... damn typos.

#2259226 Ty Conklin clears waivers, assigned to GR

Posted by shaeb30 on 20 February 2012 - 08:26 AM

With the stellar play of Joey Mac since Jimbo went down with the finger injury, what should be done with Conklin when Jimmy is back in net? I think the logical move would be to send Joey back down to GR, since he has the 2 way deal, but is Conklin really even worth keeping on the main roster? I'm not sure if he would clear waivers or not, but if he did, think of the boost that could create for the Griffins as well!

#2190801 Lets think COMPLETELY outside of the box for one minute...

I guess people missed the "thinking outside the box" part in all this. This is a discussion forum... why not at least talk about the possibility instead of jumping down my throat? If you take a second to actually think about the idea, its not as unrealistic as it may seem. If Stevie can't work something out, wouldn't you think the first place he would call would be Detroit? I was just throwing an idea out there for people to talk about!!!

Ok... according to capgeek.com, the Wings have a little more than $16 million to play with right now, and we don't exactly know for sure who the D man Kenny is going to sign will be. Lets say just for argument sake that Stamkos and the Lightning are unable to come to an agreement, and he is sitting out there for the taking come July 1. Would he be worth the $10-11 million a year plus the draft picks it would take to bring him to the D?

The roster capgeek.com has for us right now is minus Jonathan Ericsson too.. but i don't think he will make any more than $1 million.

#2176695 Subliminal Sidney Crosby Messages in NHL commercials?

Posted by shaeb30 on 18 May 2011 - 12:32 AM

Good. Little bastard.

Wow... trust me... i hate Cindy Crosby as much as any other Wings fan... but I could never root for someone to get hurt. Especially in the fashion of a concussion. I have experienced 3 concussions in my life, each worse than the last. There is no way i could ever justify being happy that somebody else has one. Plus what would be the point of hating him if he went away just like that....

#1923857 prospects 2010-2011

Posted by shaeb30 on 24 March 2010 - 03:42 PM

im pumped about seeing Lashoff make the jump up to the Griffins next year. i had season tickets last year, and went to every home playoff game last year, this kid was a man among boys. the way i remember it, he is only 19 now right???

as for the rest, everyone knows Abdelkader and Kindl will be in the D next year, with Ritola and Mursak most likely starting the year in GR, being the primary callups in case of injuries. I also wouldnt be too surprised to see Sergei Kolosov get some time in the NHL next year, it seems like the Wings are pretty high on this kid.

Tomas Tatar might get a look as well, all though this is his first year in America. he has put up some really good numbers so far for GR.

What about guys like Jamie Tardiff and Francis Pare???

I was toying around with a rule that would allow every person that plays this game only 1 of the following players every game: Pavel Datsyuk, Tomas Holmstrom, Johan Franzen, and Henrik Zetterberg in an attempt to spread out the scoring, but seens how i didnt get the results from the Edmonton game up until late tonight, nobody got a chance to see this idea and give me input on it. So, for now, everyone can still pick any player. But if everyone could put their input on this idea in with their picks for this game, that would be great! Anyways, hopefully the Wings can regroup after losing to lowly Edmonton and get back on track! Here are my picks:

Henrik Sedin
