#2453593 Patrick Eaves on Waivers

Posted by dirtydangles on 14 November 2013 - 12:25 PM

I think Sammy WOULD be waived over eaves if he didn't have a 35+ contract that would only provide like 100k in cap savings. whereas eaves provides like 900k or something

#2452757 Speculation regarding Franzen's ailment

I'm glad its not mental. I would feel bad amnestying him if he had mental problems.

#2452698 Speculation regarding Franzen's ailment

Posted by dirtydangles on 10 November 2013 - 11:50 PM

If this ailment is true, buying out Franzen may be the best for the team in the long run, and may be best for Franzen. He still walks away with a boatload of cash and he would no longer have to deal with the pressure of NHL hockey. If we LTIR him he can't do anything and is handcuffed to the organization for a good long while.

Quincey + Anyone equals s***. Cleary + any line mates = s***. FACT.

Wings win 3-2, Filppula hat trick.

so fil scores at least one on his own net?

#2450607 Smith to IR, Almqvist called up

I would have rather seen ouellet up over almquist... ouellet has a better defensive game.

#2450055 stephen weiss

Weiss has slowly improved. Last night he was creating chances and looked half decent. He isn't anywhere near where we need him to be yet but he IS improving - slowly. Part of this is likely that his wingers (cleary) aren't creating chances or burying the ones he provides.

#2449359 Edler trade proposal

Posted by dirtydangles on 31 October 2013 - 09:16 PM

I think we should target a stay at home dman. Ideally that is Girardi due to RH shot but doesn't have to be. We really need to be subtracting Quincey rather than Smith and we can DEFINITELY afford to trade our 1st this year with the plethora of prospects jammed in the pipeline. Franzen isn't worth much due to the contract length despite the cap hit - and we are screwed if he retires (compliance buyout). Edler is very expensive because he is on a great contract and is a top 2 defender on a team that needs him.

I would prefer to do something like:

1st 2014 + 2nd 2015 + Quincey for Girardi at the trade deadline if NYR are out of the playoffs and can't re-sign all their guys under the cap.

EDIT: Also no interest in Booth anywhere near this team.

Patty Eaves is back!

I like him a lot. Can't wait to have him and Helm killing some penalties together and grinding on the fourth line.

Lines tonight:

Go Wings!

Damn, I like the look of the bottom 6 for once (hardworking). Too bad Cleary and Bert are top 6 - Substituting nyquist in there for cleary would make everything sweeter.

#2448547 Would you want Moulson on the Wings?

Posted by dirtydangles on 28 October 2013 - 05:49 PM

Why do you think that?

Moulson is a pending UFA and Mrazek could be a number 1 guy for the future... add in the 1st and it doesn't work at all.

Imagine 100% Helm and Nyquist in this team. That would be a big skill and speed boost.

I think the main thing we are lacking is SPEED. We are slow and both these guys have wheels (Helm in particular). The only reason Tootoo is useful out there is because he skates and is everywhere - we need more of this.

#2446971 Datsyuk in shootouts

When dats misses we lose - when dats scores we win. this is the trend more often than not in the shootout. he shoots first and sets the tone.

I just want to weigh in on the penalty issue. I think it is completely plausible that the refs are told to influence the game slightly to keep it close. How many times have we seen a pp for a team right after they were scored on? All the time. In a big original 6 game with the home team down and the only game on tv i think the refs went a little overboard tonight. They made knit pick calls on detroit that they turned the blind eye to when boston did them. Thats my 2 cents.
