5'10" 175lbs.
Ya, that is exactly what we need...like another hole in our head.
So what do we need a 6'5 220 that hits/fights and doesnt put up PTS.....?

A lot of Kindl's mishaps can be attributed to being a novice in a pro league. Everyone has rookie mistakes and they learn from them. If Holland brings up Smith to replace Kindl, I don't think we're going to see much better hockey. Even if Smith has more athleticism than Kindl, right now he has less pro hockey experience, and that's just as crucial.
As far as bringing up I Flip, if it even happens, he's going to be playing bottom line minutes like Tatar and Mursak did, not getting second line minutes and again its because of lack of pro experience. You don't want a novice out there against top six opponents for 15 minutes/night. Even if they have a great skill set, they're still ignorant to the pace and tendencies of the NHL.
I agree totally im just saying Kindl is playing poor because he is a rookie but I think Smith should get a shot to gain some pro experience even if he doesn't do much better then Kindl.
id be happy with these lines for a couple games
Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom
Franzen-Filppula-Bertuzzi
Cleary-Hudler-Filppula
Eaves-Abdlekader-Helm
Rafalski-Kronwall
Lidstrom-Ericcson
Salei-Smith

Modano #91
While the Detroit Red Wings continue to pursue unrestricted free agent Mike Modano, the NHL's All-Time leading scorer amongst American-born players has yet to make a decision on his future.
"They're selling it pretty hard," Modano told ESNPDallas.com. "Having a team like Detroit really interested in me is flattering. I could have some fun playing with some great players and a great organization. There's a lot of upside to it. But for me, I need to figure out in my head what I want to do."
A native of nearby Livonia, Michigan, the 40-year old Modano has spent his entire 20 year NHL career with the Stars organization, helping the team capture the lone Stanley Cup title in franchise history in 1999. He was informed by the Stars last week that he would not be offered a contract for the upcoming season, however Stars general manager Joe Nieuwendyk kept the door open to a possible return to the organization for Modano in an executive level.
Modano had 14 goals and 16 assists in 59 games with the Stars last season. In 1459 career games he has 557 and 802 assists.
"He's a local boy, a Hall of Famer, yeah, I'm interested," Detroit general manager Ken Holland told the Detroit Free Press last week. "We've had good success through the years in getting the most out of players that are nearing the end."

I dont think its going to be bad, well losing Lids is going to be but 100% Holland has to go out and bring someone in to fill his spot.....well i sure hope he does anyway

Sigh....
Did either of you notice that Bobby Ryan already got offered $5m? Any sheet that he'd be willing to sign would almost certainly exceed $6m. The Flyers would be on the hook for several high draft picks. Do you really think they'd do that? Do you honestly think the Ducks wouldn't match it?
They're wanting to move Gagne because he's horribly injury-prone and he costs a lot of money and cap space. He has missed an inordinate amount of time since the lockout.
actually smart guy who thinks he knows everything, if you did you would know that Ryan got offered 5yrs and that was the problem the 5-6mill is fine he and his agent have said he wants a 2-3 yr deal with the Ducks not a long term one.

The Flyers rarely ask players to waive NTC. This is only the second time I can remember them doing so (They asked JR to waive when they signed Forsberg). Ed Snider is old school and very loyal. He would only go to Gagne if he had something definitive that he couldn't pass up.
