#2193612 Wings not offering contract to Jagr

Posted by ogreslayer on 01 July 2011 - 11:29 AM

my guess: 9.85 mil., a vial of leprechaun tears,an angel's pubic hair, and Sidney Crosby's virginity.

Well there's your problem right there. Gary already took it...

I'm sure someone will pipe up and say that Bettman already got that.

Glad to oblige...

#2193316 Wings re-sign Eaves to 3-year, $3.6m contract

Right now, I feel as if Big E's & Patty's contracts should be swapped for each other. I seriously hope I don't feel the same way after those 3 years are up though.

Kenny, you do know there are only mulligans in golf right?

#2188768 No, No, NO! Jagr interested in Detroit.

Hmm - now it seems as though Jagr won't make up his mind before July 1st.

Given the fact that he wouldn't be able to officially sign anywhere until July 1st, I don't see what the big deal is.

I think they should have gone with a bolder look. Something like this maybe...

#2187877 Boy does ESPN suck

Posted by ogreslayer on 22 June 2011 - 11:33 AM

I think someone needs to hire more editors. Count the errors!

Martin St. Louis is a right wing on the St. Louis Blues!

Jeff Skinner is a rookie for the Carolina Panthers!

Lou Eriksson's up for the Lady Byng!

That St. Louis guy is talented. He's also a goalie for the Lightning!

And Dan Bylsma is such a great coach that he also coached in Pittsburg!

I can almost forgive the Lou/Loui thing & the misspelling of Pittsburgh, but the rest? Makes me all the more glad that ESPN doesn't have the rights to broadcast the NHL.

#2186177 Question: Why do Wings fans hate the Canucks?

Posted by ogreslayer on 16 June 2011 - 12:25 PM

I just assumed the Green Men had no junk. How else do you get in a green spandex suit? I bet the Sedins know.

I would think that a set of balls would be required to even think of putting one of those suits on.

Am I the only one who really hopes that the Canuck fan who took the flash/bang grenade to the junk was actually one of the green men?

edit: spelling

#2186085 Morons at large

Posted by ogreslayer on 16 June 2011 - 09:19 AM

Heard a rumor that the shop owners downtown had hired private security for extra protection. They made the mistake of dressing them up in Luongo jerseys to blend in with the crowd though & were shocked when they couldn't make any saves. :yowza:

#2186031 Question: Why do Wings fans hate the Canucks?

Posted by ogreslayer on 16 June 2011 - 06:22 AM

cuz canuck fans start s*** of fire when their team loses.

s*** of fire? Don't they make some type of medication or topical cream to alleviate that?

On a serious note, I think it really comes down to the sense of entitlement without having won anything that gets on most other fans' nerves. Or it might just be because Bobby Lou is such an asshat and we're sick of hearing the "Loooooooooou" chants after every routine save.

#2182539 How Much Is Hudler Worth?

And if there's one thing Hudler's got...

...he picked up it from an Eastern European prostitute.

#2181652 The Unthinkable

Posted by ogreslayer on 01 June 2011 - 10:49 AM

Things that would happen before Nick would play for the Lightning...

1. Atlanta gets a third chance with a new hockey team
2. Joe Thorton decides to grow up & not be a diving little ***** any more
3. Atlanta's new hockey team moves to Red Deer, Alberta
4. Jiri Hudler becomes the Wings #1 center, leading scorer, & wins the Conn Smythe on the way to bringing another Cup to Hockeytown
5. Kwame Kilpatrick elected mayor of Detroit again after getting out of prison
6. The robot apocalypse
7. Extraterrestrial life is confirmed as is the fact that Elvis & Michael Jackson have been living with them for years
8. Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho is elected President of the United States
9. Garry Bettman pushes through rules changes to increase the amount of fighting in the NHL
10. blueadams gives up posting line combo threads on LGW

If he leaves, just put his long lost, twin brother behind the bench and nobody will notice the difference maybe.

#2181260 What can be done to go East?

Posted by ogreslayer on 31 May 2011 - 12:28 PM

How about a boycott of Wings away games in Western Conference cities? Ultimately, the league & the other teams out west want the Wings due to their drawing power on the road. Nothing short of that will precipitate a move I'm afraid.

Granted if I had made it through your entire post, I would have noticed you mentioned that already.

Either way, I still think there's a 0% chance it happens regardless of any fan effort to influence things.
