#2641310 Bummer, Miller & Pulkkinen out a while

Posted by vladdy16 on 04 December 2015 - 10:10 PM

Look at Jurco.  Now back to the injuries.  Now back to Jurco.  Now back at the injuries. This is what the topic could be if Jurco were injured.  But he's not, so let's get back to the injuries, please.

Internet cool points to whoever gets the reference.

I think Justin Bourne does a good job explaining what I think our problem is mostly due to here:  http://www.thescore....nhl/news/864998

People all over the internet keep saying "I want these sheets!".  They're nuts.  Who the hell wants Mike Babcock's disapproving glare watching over everything they do in bed?  You can almost see him thinking "Luke Glendening works harder than that" whenever you're making love to your partner.

Screw that.

Yes, but there are also people in these threads that take the practice of discourse and their opinions way too seriously while at the same time not really knowing what they are talking about.

Discourse shmishcourse.  I ain't come here to join a debate team.  I came here to talk hockey.  Don't need a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon to do that.  Just need a coupla cold Labatt Blues, the ol' eyeball test, and some homespun cliches.  Just as Don Cherry intended.

#2621532 Remaing RFAs to be signed - Jurco, Pulkkinen, Aubry

Posted by GoWings1905 on 24 July 2015 - 07:15 PM

I'm still a huge Jurco supporter. I think he has a ton of upside despite a pretty mediocre looking second season. The Red Wings botched his development last season -- he either needed to play big minutes in Grand Rapids another year or actually be utilized properly in Detroit. Nobody is going to do s*** offensively with Drew Miller and Luke Glendening.

Hoping for a nice rebound from Jurco and ideally spending more time with Sheahan as his center going forward.

I hope Nyqwist can be as good as Federov and Lindstrom were.

#97 is cool, anything but #90.  I am pretty sure they won't let him wear #91, he may not even want to do so. But remember, #11 is also opening up...#17 is open, #22, #23 (I am sure Lashoff won't be back) There's always #24, #25, #28, #32, #33....along with a plethora of higher numbers...

SAY NO TO 90!!!

Well perhaps it should die, because what they do as an organization has little bearing on the Wings. Caring a hate-torch for the Hawks is petty. It's what Chicago did when they were jealous of Detroit for 20 years. I don't want that going the other way while they're on top as Detroit retools.

So, unless they're beating the Wings in the Cup final, or keeping them from making the playoffs, I'll reserve my loathing for teams like Tampa, Montreal, Boston, and eventually Florida and Buffalo.

But this is just how I feel. Personal preference.

How is hating the Blackhawks more petty than hating any other team in the league? Hatred isn't rational. It's part of being a fan and having rivalries.

For me it's not only deeply ingrained from the longstanding Wings rivalry, but it's also that their current roster has several players who are pretty easy to hate compared to the Lightning.  Then throw their fanbase on top of it and it comes pretty easily.

If I'm picking a team I'd want to win the Cup that's not the Wings, between the Blackhawks and Tampa, it's a pretty easy choice.  If only to make Eddie Olczyk shed tears that subtly interfere with his happiness.
