McAwesome-  I subscribed a couple weeks ago, but I was wondering why, when you have scores selected to "OFF", they would put "FINAL SO" or "FINAL OT" on the menu?  Kind makes the rest of the game pointless, ehh?

This will be addressed with the next batch of updates, probably early next week.

GCL was a lot smoother tonight compared to last night.

In the new GCL interface when I click Vault it leads me to a page that wants me to sign up for $4.95 a month.  Isn't the Vault included in the GCL subscription?

Vault is included, in the top right-hand corner of the signup page for Vault there will be a link, it will either say "Already Registered? Sign In" or "Go to NHL GameCenter Live^tm" which if you click will either take you to the login (which will look like last year's GameCenter Live login) or to the Launch page.

It still says GameCenter Live on the pages and in the URLs for Vault, that will also be addressed during the next batch of updates.

looked pretty good on my end.  tho when i maximized it and made it full screen the sound was going all f***ed up and it was getting really choppy.

my monitors 25".  but when its a little smaller then fullscreen it runs nice and smooth, pretty clear.

Try changing a setting in Flash, right-click on the video and select Settings, then uncheck Enable Hardware Acceleration, this usually clears up any choppiness at full screen.

The URL is different this year, it is now gamecenterlive.nhl.com, whereas last year was gamecenter.nhl.com which is now the Vault for classic games and past season's archives.

Just got this response from GCL customer service.  Seems auto-generated to me.

We use predetermined replies to answer commonly asked questions, it is almost universal among support.  

As for the issue at hand, our (Neulion) original plan was to submit the app to Sony Computer Entertainment Inc for final approval and release today, but the PS3 app we developed has not been approved by SCEI, and the re-submittal process could take as long as 6 weeks, so that is why the reply said what it did.

So I purchased it finally! I'm excited to watch all games. However, is there any new info on the PS3 app for it yet?

No new info, still scheduled to be released in the PSN store on October 7th.

Also, when do the auto-renew charges go through?

Check your notification email, the billing will take place in 3 batches, on the 4th, 5th, or 6th, the date and amount of your billing will be in the email you received last week.

Any more information about the PS3 streaming?

The only reason I haven't re-upped for this year is I want to take advantage of the massive TV I bought in the off season instead of watching it on my computer monitors.

We actually haven't had a chance to look at the PS3 app yet, so I can't give many specifics, but the way it is supposed to work is you will download the app from the PSN store (they will charge you $10 for it) and once you have downloaded the app you will have to register it, there will be a validation code that you enter through the app to link it to your Gamecenter account for the computer, then you will be able to stream live games through your console directly to your TV, and since the video hardware on the PS3 is far superior to any media center PC, you should have a much better picture through the PS3 than you will by hooking your computer up to your big screen.

We should be getting a production app and a console to test it on early next week, so I will post more details in this thread then.  Also, for those of you that have the Roku box for Netflix, there will be an app for your box that will do the same thing.

I've also being tossing up whether I should get Gamecenter for this season too and I think you may have just sold me with the PS3 feature.  What software do you need to stream it to a PS3 though?  Through the media server thing or?

The only software you will need is the app itself, and of course a Gamecenter account for the computer.  Another bonus of the PS3 app is that you can actually be signed in on a computer and also be streaming through the PS3 at the same time, whereas if you try to sign on to more than one computer at a time it will boot one computer off.

I would only recommend it if you live outside of MI.  There are local blackouts on NHL Center Ice and Gamecenter.  So if you want to watch the Wings, NHL Game Center may have it blacked out in MI.

The way I understand it, when you buy Center Ice you have to have a premium sports package already, so you would have all the RSNs that show NHL games (Fox Sports, Comcast Sportsnet, MSG, etc) plus the dedicated "Center Ice" channels for just the hockey games.  You also get Versus and the NHL Network, which anytime those channels are showing a game there is no "Center Ice" channel for that game, you have to watch it on the regular network's channel.

With GameCenter, you are blacked out for your local team, markets are based on the network's distribution territory not whether you actually have the network, and any nationally televised game on NBC, Versus, or NHL Network is blacked out live.

One of the main reasons that people tell me they prefer GameCenter to Center Ice is the archives, if you miss a game on Center Ice you just miss out on that game (unless you set your DVR), but with GameCenter every game is archived 48 hours after the live broadcast, and for games that are not blacked out you can start them over for 24 hours, even while the game is in progress, with no additional hardware or software.  Also, GameCenter includes access to the NHL Vault, which is archives for every game since 2007-08 and several classic games from the 60's-90's, and by the end of October there are supposed to be as many as 500 classic games.

Not trying to sound like a salesperson for Gamecenter, just giving you more information so you can make an informed decision.

Also, for those making mention of hockeystreams.net, don't be surprised if that site gets shut down if it hasn't already been, the NHL is severly cracking down on unauthorized streaming sites charging money for hockey, (don't worry, I haven't told them about Drumnj, he doesn't charge)

Even if Bert never drops the gloves again this season, the fact that he stood up for a teammate (and apparently beat the living piss out of the guy) should put the fear in opponents for the foreseeable future, no one wants to be on the receiving end of another Steve Moore incident.  Either way, I really hope this is a glimpse of a meaner, more aggressive Bert this year, we desperately need that kind of presence.  If nothing else then to give him a few free passes for the inevitable bonehead plays, no-look drop passes into space, one-hand-on-the-stick giveaways, bad penalties that we have come to know and loathe from him.

Pro-Hudler - Filppula
Anti-Ozzie - Howard
Pro-Enforcer - Hudler, Modano, anyone on the 3rd or 4th lines that doesn't fight

Personally, I think that no one is really immune to being the occasional "whipping boy", except maybe Lidstrom, who can do no wrong.  Everyone makes mistakes, some more than others, but mistakes can lead to losses and no one on this board likes it when the Wings lose.

My early odd-on favorite is Bertuzzi though, he is the closest thing we have to a Sammy/Lebda/WIlliams type who makes a lot of the same kind of mental errors on a regular basis.

I don't think you are a loser, but I am honestly surprised that there is someone out there that has not seen any of the Star Wars movies.  Did you make a conscious decision to avoid them?
