#2047607 Jiri Hudler

Am I the only one who is really disappointed what be brought so far, atm I would much rather have a Asham type player...

How many games are we going to give him until he light it up? It's been 4 games now and he has been more or less invisible.. he came here for secondary scoring but we have yet to see that, I think he needs to start producing ASAP as he's been here for years before he went to Russia and knows the system...can't say stuff like "well he needs to get acclimatized first"....

hes been far from invisible.

look somewhere other than a scoresheet for once

#2019713 Antti Niemi files for arbitration

Posted by wingsfaninMA on 27 July 2010 - 01:17 PM

Actually he said that there were no more trades NEEDED which is an even dumber thing to say. There were 29 other GM's that knew he was blowing smoke up their asses. I agree with your assement. The arbitrator will award Niemi between $3-4M and Chicago will walk away. Huet will be the starter next year, Sharp will be gone and it wouldn't surprise me if they traded one of their "core" guys to get below the cap.

So youre saying theyll choose to play a worse goalie that has an extra $2m caphit. Thats retarded.

The only way huet will be on their books next season is if neimi is awarded $7m+

#2015843 Philadelphia's cap issues

Posted by wingsfaninMA on 16 July 2010 - 12:23 PM

Oh I didn't realize he was an RFA, and it still wouldn't surprise me to see him either not signed or his rights traded since he's an RFA. Its not so much about clearing cap space as it is getting rid of an unnecessary amount of bottom 6 players. They have more bottom 6 guys then Detroit does right now and instead of paying 3 guys to sit in the press box they can save probably a million or so by trading 1 or 2 of them.

this is a good one.

so you're saying the problem is not that theyre well over the salary cap, but that they have too much depth and need to be rid of that depth. HAHA wtf???

seriously do you give any thought at all to your posts... any?

How is trading a player they haven't even re-signed gonna solve their problem of being $2.5m over the cap?

 i dont think that guy gives much thought to his posts.

#2015263 Red Wings re-sign Derek Meech

Posted by wingsfaninMA on 15 July 2010 - 11:54 AM

Get a load of this guy. Stevkrause is obviously right here, read what he said guy. It is basically an Entry level contract because he is entering the NHL on this contract and its make or break for him is what he is saying.

Stev is one of the more knowledgeable posters on here and youre clearly on here being a clown but I can't figure out why?

He played in the NHL two years ago on his elc.

stev also thought huet was canadian. smart guy.

man, you're really reaching to prove me wrong...

all I ever said, was that it was the similar in what it meant in terms of making the team, I never said anything about it's actual contractual, or monetary value and if you read what I posted without your head in your ass, it was pretty clear...

pretty weak...

rofl...

okay

#2015227 Red Wings re-sign Derek Meech

Go re-read the original post - I said more or less, because even though he already had his entry level deal, this is the same type of deal IN THE SENSE that it's a "show us enough to keep you deal"...

Also, although it isn't REQUIRED, if you followed the way the Wings brass runs things, they generally don't sign players to their entry level deals, until they're ready to put them in GR...

Keep trying though...

So its an elc based on ur own personal rare opinion on what an elc is. Ok keep trying.

Its not an elc. End of story. It's not even close to an elc. there no such thing as being close to an elc. an elc had restrictions, incentives, term limits, etc. Ritola has nothing of that sort applied to him.

Posted by wingsfaninMA on 15 July 2010 - 10:28 AM

more or less... he already signed his entry level deal to play for GR, but this is more or less an entry level deal, as it's either "make Detroit's roster, or bust"

You can only sign one entry level deal there is no more or less. it is or isnt.

I know you'll say that you knew this even though u obviously didnt -- but an elc does not allow someone to play in the ahl.

pretty sure almost none of that is true.

#2013238 Sharks sign RFA Niklas Hjalmarsson

Posted by wingsfaninMA on 09 July 2010 - 02:50 PM

Nobody got destroyed. TO me it has been friendly banter on the legitamacy of the Hawks ability to shed cap space via Huet to make room for Hjalmarsson.

I think its just been a debate, no destruction...

Called ppl asinine and unreasonable and stuf whilst claiming huet was canadian and saying he couldnt go to khl, etc. just sayin

A light little look at the best and worst wings tandems this season : http://detroitwordon...rds-200910.html

The best pair of the year... datsyuk & Holmstrom

Overall, the stats these two put up together couldn't be ignored. They were only tandem to combine a large hook-up total with a great +/- rating. The love between these two is strong. Every time they gaze into each others eyes there is an eternal flame that burns... burns the competition. Goalies hate them, but they don't care. They have each other and that's all they need.

Homer + Pasha 4eva.

#1982776 Luongo Not the Answer for Vancouver

Posted by wingsfaninMA on 10 May 2010 - 01:42 PM

The problem with Vancouver is that they have built their team like this:

Excellent top line.
Solid second line.
Mediocre checking line.
Mediocre fourth line.

Good top pair.
Decent second pair.
Mediocre third pair.

Very good regular season goalie who they hope can carry them in the playoffs.

Most championship teams are built like this:

Strong top line
Strong second line.
Good checking line
Solid fourth line.

Very good top pairing.
Strong second pairing.
Decent third pair.

Good regular season goalie capable of carrying the team in the playoffs.

Look at the two builds. Which builds provide very good regular seasons and playoff failure, and which provide good regular seasons and deep playoff runs?

I think you all know the answer.

Why don't you know there difference between opinion and fact? also whats with ur stupid font?

Van has some great young players that are improving. Burrows, raymond, kesler, bernier, edler, grabner???? You think theyve peaked or something??

#1917681 The Team and Their Goalie

Posted by wingsfaninMA on 17 March 2010 - 04:17 PM

If the roles were switched Howard would still have better numbers when it comes to the graph. But I still think it is misleading considering the injuries, line changes, and other issues when it comes to this team.

Howard is playing great and it is shown by watching him play. I consider this to be unnecessarily redundant (like comparing Howard's GAA and SV% to Osgood as a way to show Howard is playing much better this year. We already know that he is doing better).

this isnt talking about how well the goalies are playing but how well players are playing in front of different goalies. you should read the article. he clearly states that:

Osgood is one of the all-time greats, but this season, whether he is to blame or not, the Wings' most important players have been better in front of Howard.
