He's always been difficult to knock off the puck. As for his weight, he deliberately lost upper-body muscle in the 2010 offseason.

I think it was Bab's that wanted the top 6 forward and Holland thought we were fine up front and in need of defence, but i could be wrong. I know I want a top 6 forward though that's for sure. I also want to see and will route for Emmerton to do well as it's nice to see inside development paying off...But back on topic, how many invites are one team allowed to give? Because unless they have been talking the talks with someone under the radar and keeping there fingers crossed, I don't see it happening.

Yeah, I get it.... and I think saying '20 goals' or '50-60 points' as you said, would be a better bar to set. I guess the KHL thing didn't really bother me as much as it did some others. Anyway, I'm trying to look at it more positively. Let's face it, Hudler is probably going to be on this roster next season. There IS reason to believe that he could return to 07-08 form this coming year and score your 20 goals and 50-60 points. As I said, no KHL adjustment period, etc. If he does that, then great - everyone will be happy to be surpised (since it seems that everyone is of the mind that he will go downhill from last year instead of up, considering all of the negative Hudler talk). If he doesn't... well, it's only for one more year at the $2.875 million. Was I disappointed in his play last year? Definitely. But, this switching back and forth from NHL to KHL is a relatively new deal. I feel like that was a huge part of the reason for his dropoff. He wasn't any smaller or weaker in 07-08 when everyone was happy with his production. I believe that he deserves the chance to rebound to that form this season, and that he deserves our support in attempting to do so.

Wow seems like a lot of people are really down on Commodore.
He had a bad season people where he got waived and now all of a sudden noone thinks he is even capable of staying out of the pressbox?
The guy still played almost 20 mins a night the last few years when he was in the lineup, almost 3 minutes a night short handed, and is much better offensively than Salei.
Sure Commodore isnt super fast but hes just as good of a skater as Salei, is used to playing 19 minutes a night compared to Saleis 16, plays more pk time and is a big, mean player who can hit hard and will fight light heavyweights.
He is basically salei with more offense and a much bigger mean streak. Just bec ause he tried to take a wings player head off and fell into the bench doesnt mean hes a god awful player. At least he has that mean streak to go and try to light a guy up like that.
Not to mention prior to going to CBJ, Commodore was one of the better stay at home types in the league playing a big part in 2 cup runs for Carolina and Calgary. If theres a team that can help him find that form again, its Detroit. Look what they did with Lilja who was a similar guy, who was even worse than Commy when he came to Detroit.
People need to give him a chance instead of watching him fly into the bench on one youtube video to decide hes a bum.
When he does this to tools like avery everyone will sing a different tune..
or stiicks up for the goalie like this
Not to mention guys liek Ericcson and abdelkader will play tougher because they know a 6'5 Canadian mean SOB will be backing them up

Ultimately, this Red Wing team is no better than last year. It has actually regressed with the loss of Rafalski...
