That would be amazing, Dangles. Call me biased but I truly believe Mantha is a superstar in the making. I think he's ready for the NHL right away which is why I think we should consider calling him up next season if he tears up the AHL early on.

The '02 cup was a little more special for me since I was 11 at the time and remembered everything about it. I liked revisiting the '97 and '98 moments on YouTube. Those teams were a joy to watch and I'm glad Vernon came away with a Smythe. Speaking of Vernon, was anyone stunned by the trade to the Sharks or were you content with the torch being passed to Osgood? I'm intrigued to know what someone of you "older" fans think.

this is my ideal off-season (pls don't knock it): - Let Alfie/Bert/Legwand walk in order to stay young (unless they're willing to come back for cheap) - Trade for Spezza (I think we've got enough assets to entice the Sens to pull the trigger on a deal) - Sign Vanek or Gaborik (preferably Gaborik; he's proven that he's got a lot left in the tank and hasn't shown any sign of slowing down. I'd be totally fine with giving this guy 6 mil for 3-5 seasons, he's a natural goal scorer with a laser for a shot and his clutch gene is up there with Kane's, not to mention he'd likely flourish playing on a line with Datsyuk) - If neither Vanek/Gaborik are available, Stastny would be a healthy alternative, though I wouldn't overpay him. - Match any offers for Tatar/Sheahan/Dekeyser as long as said offers aren't outrageously high. - Call up Almquist and Pulkinnen (let Mantha and Sproul get their feet wet in the AHL for a season, or a portion of it) Projected line-up: Abdelkader/Datsyuk/Gaborik Zetterberg/Spezza/Franzen Tatar/Sheahan/Nyquist Pulkkinen/Weiss (Helm?)/Jurco Smith/Kronwall Quincy/DeKeyser Kindl/Almquist

No. We need to bolster our defense, not weaken it.

    Kesler still wants a trade.....

He's been regressing for a while now and I don't think a change of scenery would turn him into the 70 point producer he once was. I'll say no.
  7. Smith redeems himself! Terrific effort from Hank.
  8. I agree. I like that we're shooting more, we already have as many shots as we did in game 1 through the first. just a matter of crashing the net more and we'll be able to head back home with a win. this is our game to take.
  9. we dominated most of this period. keep it up.
