#2634607 Looks like Tyler Bertuzzi is a ****** like his uncle

Yes but it's extra terrible when it's on a little innocent finnish player...

He needs to toughen up

I live in Detroit, but I work afternoons. Though I promise; the next weekday home game with a 1 am start, I'll be there.

#2629130 October 2015 Schedule Wallpaper Now Available!

Posted by Matt on 09 October 2015 - 04:12 PM

It's back! Due to popular demand I'm bringing back the monthly LGW Schedule Wallpapers for download. I've limited the resolutions options a bit (6 for now), but I'm open to adding a few as well as long as the size is reasonably popular. Hope you guys like them! I plan on going back to the different-player-per-month lineup I've done in years past.

#2604702 should mrazek get #1 tag next season

Posted by sum1 on 29 April 2015 - 10:19 PM

The most games Mrazek has started is 52 and that was back in the OHL.

I'm guessing he splits the season with Jimmy and the "starter" will be the guy who ends up earning the spot over the course of the season.

With as many blocked shots by Miller during the playoffs we would be better off having Miller back up Mrazek than Howard.

Yup, Quincey is awful defensively, terrible on the PK... Do people even bother watching the games anymore, or just spew random s*** based on the "in" thing to say... Well news flash, Quincey has been one of our most consistent, reliable defenders for a year now...

#2562045 McGratton on waivers

Then Detroit could claim him, and pay Lucic back for spearing DeKeyser, then wave him.

Then Montreal could..............

Wouldn't that be great?  If like 5 or 6 teams in a row claimed McGrattan the day before they played the Bruins just so Lucic could get punched in the face.

I hate fighting, but I think I hate Lucic more.  This is a toughie.

I respect Mirtle, Yost and all their other mathfreaks but as soon as I see their name ---> skip article.
If I wanted to read math stuff I'd look somewhere else and not at a sports site...with a horrible design

It's ok, a lot of people are frightened by things they don't understand.

Kip let it go buddy. I'm not going to sit here and come up with a dissertation on why I believe fights should be a part of hockey. It's hockey for pete sake. Entertainment. I like the fighting...I like the big hits...I like the skill...I like the scoring....I hate Crosby.

Oh, I get it.  You like sports, and you like fighting, and you like entertainment.  You like sports entertainment.  Gotcha.

1. The Wings DO get after people for dirty hits. Not every single time but E went after Nolan and in previous seasons Bertuzzi stuck up for Pav. It's not always about fighting, there are guys who make their presence known after questionable hits.

2. I know moderation has been a touchy subject lately but I've noticed the number of personal attacks has gone way up in the past few weeks and honestly, it doesn't bring much to the discussion at all.

Great post finally someone is sharing my views on toughness. A few years ago guys like Dmac, Downie or even Shanahan would have wiped the floor with enemies but now the team is a bunch of small fairies that's too easy to intimidate and that's against a Leafs team that didn't even ice Orr and McClaren. Disgusting for a team that once had the heavyweight belt. And people are still wondering why the season ticket list turned from a waiting list to running commercials... The mixture just isn't there. Former Wings were exciting to watch because they were built in skill, grit and an overall hardworking hockey club who could beat the other team in many ways and stood up for each other. The Lemieux incident nowadays would result in a crying for Quinta instead of taking justice in the own hand and let someone go Berserk soon sad

So your blaming poor ticket sales on the fact we don't fight anymore.... Would have nothing to do with the economy.

I would love for you to explain to Bob Probert's wife and 4 kids as well as countless other familys that lost someone way too soon because it will sell more tickets. Ignoring the long term effects of head trauma due to toughness is ignorance.

#2554807 Jonathan Bernier - Nelson Mandela Comments

Posted by rick zombo on 08 December 2014 - 11:29 AM

Stupid question in my mind. I mean, he knew the guy was famous and that's more than enough. Same thing here I know Mandela was famous but not why had to search it myself so a total nonstory.

It's like asking a hockeyplayer about a famous athlete from another sport. The guys should focus on hockey and that's all that counts, some reporters these days jesus..

Wait. Did you just excuse Bernier of his ignorance because you also didn't know who Mandela was?

And this "hockey players" should only focus on hockey thing is complete crap, by the way. I'd expect these people to have, at least, a general f****** clue about what's going on outside of the sport. I guarantee that Bernier knows who Miley Cyrus is, for example,  FFS.
