    Naming the New Arena

Hot-N'-Ready Arena, haha. I really wouldn't be surprised at all though if they don't take the corporate sponsor cash and call the arena something Olympia related. "New Olympia Center" or something classy. Then of course make back some of that money with tons of advertising inside of the complex and also having corporate sponsors for goal announcements, power plays, etc. Probably ads in front of the urinals too. The abundant supply of urinals we've all been dreaming of.

Purchase information on the Lithograph has been posted, but they aren't very affordable. Insane prices, but it's definitely a nice collection of signatures. $5,000-$7,500 depending on the print. Unframed too, which is pretty bogus. A professional frame job would bump the cost up another 200-300 bucks if you wanna frame it after you get it, which is pocket change compared to the price you'd pay for the lithograph anyways. If they had an unsigned version that an average fan could acquire for like $50, I would get one to collect signatures on for sure. It's "tax deductible" but I don't have a clue how it goes with claiming a big charitable purchase like this. Pretty awesome though. http://redwings.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=96575

    Getting a captain's C stitched

It depends if you mean the jersey came with no A or C at all, or if it currently has the "A" and you want to switch it with the "C". Usually the lettering is heat pressed on and then sewn, leaving glue marks or an outline if its removed. The parts that the "C" wont cover will likely be visible even if its removed professionally. If it has the "A", I would just keep it like that, but if it doesn't, or if you still want the "C" on it, then there should be a closer spot that can do that for you. Most sports shops that sell legit jerseys can do it, I know SportsK does mail ins, but that would cost way too much just for the C patch. Fanatic U is a good spot with a few local stores, including one in Novi. I know they customize Wings jerseys, so they should be able to do just the C for a decent price and you wont have to mail it anywhere. http://fanaticu.com/

I seen this too. They mentioned it was being made by the Alumni Association I believe, so it should also be available after the Winter Classic festivities too, possibly available for charitable donations or something at the regular alumni games they do at small rinks. It would be an amazing thing to collect autographs on too. I wanna get my hands on one. I just checked the official alumni site and their store is currently down, so I emailed them. Hopefully I get a word back. Here's the Alumni site: http://redwings.nhl.com/club/microhome.htm?location=/alumni

    Passport to visit Windsor?

I wanna say the passport thing started in 2010. In Michigan you can get an enhanced license/id (costs around 40 bucks) and it works the same as a passport for ground travel between US/Canada and US/Mexico. I'm not sure if they're only sold in border states, but if you can get one it would be the fastest/cheapest option. Everyone you're with will need one though. Alternately you're allowed into Canada without a passport or enhanced license but need it to get back into the US, so if you don't mind being detained for a few hours by border patrol, they'll probably let you go once they figure out you aren't a terrorist or drug mule. Edit: The last time being in Ontario without a passport for me was May 2009 while camping with some people. We hit the bar in town to catch the Wings series against Chicago that weekend. It was a yearly thing and then by the next year we weren't able to do it because not everyone could cross. Either way, it's understandable why the law kicked in, but its still dumb. Its really no more secure than just needing a current ID and birth certificate.

$9 tickets available on Saturday. How early to show up?

I went last year. You don't have to do anything wild like camp out or something, haha. Here's the low down though: First, this year seems like it'll be a lot smoother than last time since they're opening the Joe and handing out numbered wrist bands at the door. This time fans can sit around inside until its time to get in the line for tickets. When I did it last year, there were no wrist bands and I got there about an hour before they started selling the tickets and the line extended from the west entrance box office and around about half of the arena to the steps on the east enterance by Cobo. When they went on sale, I was in line for another 2 hours and when I got to the box office, the only game sold out was a Philly game, and I heard games were still available around 4pm but the best ones were sold out. The tickets they'll be selling for 9 dollars are upper level corners in the last few rows. They arent obstructed view, but if you're at the left side of the section you'll have a wall in the way of seeing the left half of the crowd, but the ice view is 100%. I'd say you don't have to get there before they open the Joe up at 9am, but definitely don't get there past 11am if you want a shot at games you'd most like to go to. Maybe make that by 10am, since more people may show up since you can go inside the Joe, and also because there's less home games than available last year. Have fun.

Red Wings official website too equal to others?

All of the NHL teams have the same exact layout and format for their website. Each team has their own crew of people that work the site and post articles, but the site itself is basically the same thing for all 30 teams. It's just kinda how it is. Its the same thing for pretty much every pro league too.

Detroit-Nashville: Babcock is loosing coach battle

Sorry for being snippy, I've just been hearing so much negativity since game 4 and decided to come on here after a few pops and watching the games tonight. Loosing is still no fun though. Hopefully some winninng happens in game 5

Detroit-Nashville: Babcock is loosing coach battle

Buddy, re-post this when the Wings are officially out, which hopefully isn't for awhile. I hope you're from abroad too, because your spelling sucks. Brush that up before you come back around with a "This season sucked, we're done" style contribution. Fingers crossed for game 5.

nashville predators keep the red out campaign

If anything, the most trade ins will probably be from Preds fans that hit ebay up for a dirty used 15 dollar 90's wings jersey and get a super cheap new Predators jersey. I still think this is a nice promotion though. If I were going to one of the games in Nashville, I would probably trade in one of my old blanks if I didn't have to settle for the yellow home jersey. That jersey is seriously hideous. It's not the worst in the league, but its down there for sure. And I'm not saying this just to be a jerk, but the first time I seen a game with the Preds wearing that s***, it was like staring at the sun. Awful.

    Another jersey question (sorry)

If you wait it out and check ebay semi often, you'll find an almost mint Mac CCM jersey in your size for 50 dollars or less. If you want a true to the era 96-97' season jersey, go for a Nike. CCM and Nike made awesome jerseys and can be found cheap on ebay with a little patience and perseverance. You can also get a pretty cheap blank off of ebay and have it customized with new lettering for around 40 bucks more at a local shop.

F/S RARE Red Wings Bobble Heads (2012 SGA)

Oh look, it's "RedWingsFan123" just popping in to let us know he has bobble heads for sale that he hoarded several of at the bobble head giveaway nights.. The same ones that were hoarded by assholes in multiple's which left me without one when I went to the Bertuzzi bobble head night. I was two minutes late in getting one, because pieces of s*** like this find ways to get like 4 or 5 of them, and then sell them on ebay. f*** off you prick.

Which Opposing Teams Fans Invade Joe The Most?

If four Toronto fans carpooled 5 hours to Detroit for a game, They would probably pay even less between tickets to a game at JLA, a motel room, and the gas to get here than they would just for the tickets to any Toronto game at Air Canada Centre. Their tickets are super expensive for home games, and southern Ontario is jam packed with Leafs fans, many of which live just right across the border. Toronto for sure. There were also a few party buses outside the Joe from Canada with fans that came out for the Vancouver game recently.

    The Rocket

Definitely a great movie. I rented it on Netflix back when you could get the DVD + Streaming for 10 bucks. I burned a copy when I had it rented out, but its something I would definitely buy if I actually seen it in a store. Good flick Also "Net Worth" the Ted Lindsay movie was a good one. Way less production budget, but still good. to old time hockey movies
