Wings projected lines -

There is no reason for Abdelkader on the 2nd line when Tatar is out scoring him with less games. But, I did always imagine Babcock as a child spending hours trying to jam a square peg into a round hole.

Sammy is over 35 so even if he clears waiver his cap doesn't provide much relief... around 1K but I'm not sure.

Screw the cap, we just want him gone.

Glendening, Jurco, Andersson, and Sheahan all get hat tricks, the Red Griffs blow up offensively and put up 97 shots and win 17-0. Datsyuk breaks the NHL record for assists and points with 1 goal 14 assists and 15 points. Cleary and Sammy combine for 1 assist.  Hiller turns his crease yellow and Getzlaf cries.

Here we go good vibes here we go!

I wanted a youth movement, but not in this fashion. It was supposed to be prospects playing instead of Samuelsson, Cleary and Bertuzzi -- not at the expense of our best forwards.

When we have Zetterberg, Helm, Weiss, DeKeyser, Howard, Franzen, Abdelkader back in the lineup, in addition to the other players who have missed significant time due to injury like Ericsson, Datsyuk and Bertuzzi, and we still aren't scoring and are losing consistently, then I will get concerned.

I had to quit lurking and make my first post that whistle was so bad...

This season is very depressing.  It's not so much that I believe this team is bad or won't make the playoffs, but I simply just do not like the make up of this team, I dislike some of the players, the attitude, the current lines, and the GM's moves. I hope they start to pull there heads out there asses and actually ice the best team we can.

My life won't be complete until Bertuzzi and Bortuzzo have a fight.

GUYS, GUYS! I just met Tomas Tatar in downtown royal oak. My girlfriend n I were walking and we walked by him and a buddy speaking slovakian to each other. I called out his name n was like o s*** its you, lemme shake your hand. I shook his hand n told him hes been playin great lately and to keep scoring. He smile a huge smile and thanked me and intoduced himself and his buddy. Seemed genuinely appreciative of my compliments. Nice guy. Night made!

#2464019 Kindl

Posted by haroldsnepsts on 13 December 2013 - 11:06 AM

The reason I'm going easy on him is because he's a third pairing d-man who gets paid to chip in offense and he does that.  Quincey gets paid to be a defensive d-man and doesn't stop goals, Smith gets paid to be an offensive d-man and doesn't produce points, but Kindl actually does what he's supposed to do.  Produces modest points for a third pairing guy.  Getting on Kindl for not playing good defense is a lot like getting on Lashoff for not scoring goals.

I'm guessing the Wings didn't sign Kindl to a $2.4 million 4-year contract because they were content with him being a bottom pairing guy who picks up some points.

I'm certainly not happy with Quincey's play but he's asked to do more than Kindl. I'd put them about even at bad play when you factor in how much more Kindl is protected out there. And as I said, Smith is a rookie. This is his first full season in the NHL.

Offensive defenseman aren't supposed to be responsible defensively? I'm not asking him to be Nick Lidstrom. I'd just hope he didn't still shy away from being hit and make rookie mistakes. I couldn't disagree more that he should get a free pass just because he's put up 10 points, 5 of which are PP assists.

If the Wings defense were set and all Kindl was ever supposed to be was a bottom pairing plug, I'd be pretty okay with it. But they're a young defensive corps that needs guys to step up and he continues to play like a rookie that's 5'10" and 175 lbs instead of a veteran who's 6'3" and 216 lbs (2nd biggest on defense to Ericsson).

The good news about this penalty? Ericsson is healthy.

#2463398 Weiss

Posted by Detroit # 1 Fan on 11 December 2013 - 11:53 AM

The guy needs to sit until he's fully healthy. Babs made mention he was playing thru injury earlier the year, then missed time, and now he's been playing injured again and going to miss time. Why do the Wings have this happen so much? Cleary played thru injury in 11-12 and wasf****** horrendous. What's the point? Sit out and get healthy, play kids in the mean time. Especially in Weiss' case this year, clearly he is not helping us at less then 100%, going back to last year he hasn't helped ANYBODY at less then 100%. Better to sit then play and be invisible.

Just got in from my concert. My kids pulled off a good show, and looking at the scoreboard, the Wings are too. Anybody got the short recap for me? Thanks in advance.

Wings are dominating.
Pashas making up for lost time with goal/assist/sick passes.
2nd line (mostly weiss) is utterly invisible.
The TAN line (kids) are playing like we all expected.
Thomas has made some great saves.
Jimmy looks like jimmy of old.
Thomas dove in the 1st and got a goaltender interferance call that ckeary wasnt. Ericsson goal reversed.
Franzen hit the post shortly after.
Bert has a PPG.
