I'm guessing boston will offer picks 13,14,15 and Subban for the 3rd overall pick? Don't know if arizona can say no to that
Future franchise goaltender ... Possibly a good dman + the Russian kid and another good forward
Exactly what has Subban done for someone to say he's a future franchise goaltender. When he played for Belleville I watched him play and he really isn't that good. Put it this way, if he is a #1 goalie for your team you are in trouble.
ONLY if he promises to whip it out if someone scores four goals in a season. Also, gotta imagine he'd rather be traded to FLA or ARI than DET. The dude likes his sunshine.
I'd be willing to bet he choose the Wings over either of those teams. Contrary to belief, Thorton actually wants to win a cup and not be labelled as a guy that couldn't get it done when it mattered. He's an elite talent and deserves to win a cup before he goes.
The Wings have one legit high end center prospect in Larkin. I see AA as more of a winger with his skill set. Defense is a need too, but the Oilers are loaded with top flight young forwards and could move one. I don't see any young high end defensemen available.
And by the time Datsyuk and Z retire who knows who they could have drafted by then or signed in FA. What if Mantha turns out better then Draisaitl because there is no proof he will be a number one center either. He's just as unknown as Mantha at this point.
Where did I say holland added a player cause he's friends with a gm? Geez ... I was here sayin we should get cole cause he'd be a good fit and shouldn't cost as much since he was a older ufa and not an elite guy
I don't think I was overvalued jarnkrok at the time ... He was considered our number 1 prospect for along time and and I think he was even at the time of the trade? Not sure
Made top nhl prospect lists , praised by andersen and other scouts ... And we give him up along with a 2nd for david legwand of all people?
When the trade happened wings organization basically said he was a bust so we wouldn't be pissed off ...anyways it's far too soon to say he's gonna be a bust , I think at the least he's gonna be a 3rd line guy ... We'll see
I'm over it cause I see a lot of potential coming up .... And I'd much rather give up Gus or Tatar than a mantha in a deal
Wings don't make the playoffs without that trade. Legwand and Mule went on a tear together and won us a bunch of games.
To you that may not be important, unfortunately you don't run the team and it matters to them.
I don't know , somehow I got a feeling cause it was Nill and he and holland are good friends, he somehow convinced holland to get more than he should of ... I Just don't like giving up good assets for guys who have brought nothing to help the team ... Anyways it's over now and I hope he thinks twice before trading mantha or someone else of value before he makes a deal
Man that list of guys you named that's what I'm talking about ... seeing that list ... Just brutal
As for kessel I'm not really worried about him , just hope and think we won't give up on mantha just yet , we got a ton of good kids upfront , we need to draft d's this year ... If we have 6picks I'd say 4-5 gotta be d's
Maybe in hindsight, but Cole would have been a difference maker for us in the playoffs. Also, let's not pretend Holland added players in just because there friends, that's just ridiculous.
You value prospects too highly, they really aren't worth anything unless you have a top 10 pick or until they prove themselves. You said Wings were going to regret Jarnkrok yet I just looked at his stats and we aren't missing anything.
Yes, we probably could and should have beaten Tampa, but they've really progressed a lot since the Detroit series, and have played much better to get to where they are. I'm dubious about Detroit getting over the line against any of Montreal, New York or Chicago.
Edit: And FWIW - I'm still supremely confident the Bolts will take the Cup with much less trouble than everyone thinks.
So only Tampa can get better as the playoffs go along?
Also, what makes you think Detroit didn't have any part in shutting down Tampa instead of Tampa just not playing well at the beginning of the playoffs? If I remember Detroit took out Anaheim and almost Chicago a couple years ago and we heard the same thing then.
We have two elite two way players, maybe just maybe that had something to do with containing most of Tampa's offense.
I agree with you, but only to a point. Sure things might be a little different. But if the new coaches don't look at what our PP did successfully last year, with roughly the same personnel, (and try to recreate that success) then they're dangerously stupid and should immediately be fired.
If you had the second best PP a year ago, and you had almost the exact same personnel, the largely the same system, most of the same coaches, and access to all the technical information and game footage a person could ask for, would you completely scrap everything and start from scratch?
Neither would anybody else. Surely Blash is smart enough to build of past successes, and try to improve upon past failures. Reinventing the wheel would just be dumb. The powerplay was our biggest success last season. I wouldn't expect too much to change in that regard, unless of course, it begins to struggle.
I just hope they get rid of the stupid no look drop pass that is way too predictable.
