Yeah, helm has 9 career short handed goals so far.. With a little luck (and perhaps a Larkin/AA or someone on his PK line), he could finish his career around drapers at least as far as SH goals go anyway.
I understand that mentality later in the season when it's getting down to the wire and the streak is on the line, especially it being Blashill's first season as head coach. I just hope he improves on a lot of things he did last year, line combinations and player usage being the most important in my opinion...
This, in addition to special teams, are what I'm hoping the assistant coaching changes help the most.
The revamped coaching staff definitely seems like it could go a long way to improving the team from last year, imo.
If he broke his stick, I could probly see a penalty being called. There's no penalty for a stick lift with the D man not having a tight enough grip.. Stick lifts are allowed without the opposing player having the puck; happens all the time. It's the D mans fault that goal is getting so much attention.
Mantha was very hyped upon being drafted, and for good reason. Very few are as high on him as they once were.. I'm just hoping he's having a good off season of work and comes to camp determined to make the roster. He certainly has the tools to be a difference maker at the NHL level, he's just gotta want it.
Little Bert has been one of the more exciting Griffins to watch over the past year. I still think he'll have another year down there though. Maybe be a bottom 6 injury call up this year.
