#2616285 2015 Draft

I want kylington, roy, or trade back later in the first and pick up a second rounder. A trade while picking up one of those guys would be incredible.

Soderbergs rights to Colorado for a 6th round pick.

Must be preparing to trade ror. Can't wait until the ball gets rolling tomorrow. Should be an exciting draft.

#2615983 Re Wings open 2015-16 October 9 vs. Toronto

I want the wings to blow out the leafs with Smith, Weiss, kindl, jurco, & pulks all scoring :P

#2615798 Draisaitl for Anthony Mantha? Yes, Yes, Yes!

Posted by amato on 23 June 2015 - 06:15 PM

Unless it's a Mantha for Draisaitil deal or one for a player on same level as him then i say keep Mantha. I hope they don't just trade him for anyone just cause he's having a rough transition in the ahl. I have a feeling this summer Mantha will train and work his tail off to show that he is the elite scoring winger he was brought to Detroit to be. Holland hasn't been on a " Lucky Streak " the past couple a seasons. Two years in a row bad trades for aging rent a players that contributed jack. Hopefully can turn that around here at the draft and the up coming free agency period :).

I don't think we have that to worry about.. if there's one thing the wings organization is good at, it's patience with development.

lol - I watch 82 Leafs games a year... Marchenko is already more physical than Franson... I have no idea who started the notion that Franson is a physical player. Big does not mean physical.

Anyone is physical to wings fans :P

No really though, it's probably because of his hit total.. which was 177 this past season & he led all d men the year before with 282.

The closest wings d man last year was actually ericsson, with 114.

I'm not trying to advocate that hits are the only thing to playing a physical game but they do give you some kind of indication as to how physical a player is.

Don't mind me. I'm half drunk here. I was looking at Columbus' 8th overall, forgetting Wisniewski is in Anaheim... Carry on, as you were...

Hahaha okay I was confused for a second.. didn't think what I proposed was outrageous or anything. Cheers!

How does a player acquire stupid speed? Does a team pay more for this? Can young players go to stupid speed schools in the summer?

Nah, you go to school to get smart speed. There are a number of ways to get stupid speed.. like watching speed, on speed, while speeding.

Did you guys know that Kenny Holland likes to kick tires?

Kicking hard or hardly kicking?

#2615074 Jets re-sign Anthony Peluso for only 675.000 AAV (2 years)

Posted by amato on 18 June 2015 - 10:52 AM

9 points in 107 career games.  He does one thing well, punch.  Those guys are useless in the modern NHL.  He's so valuable he didn't play a single minute in the playoffs and only averaged 5:52 a game in the 49 games he did play int he regular season.  So valuable he was a frequent healthy scratch.

Doesn't exactly scream "best fourth liner." But hey, fights are exciting.

#2615029 Things you would like to see for 2015-16 Season

Posted by amato on 18 June 2015 - 08:02 AM

This article suggests Keith Yandle being traded out of new york.... wonder what it would take to acquire him?

His cap hit is extremely cap friendly due to the coyotes keeping half of it but he's a free agent after next season.

Mantha will be great. Can't wait to see what he can do with a full season. I think breaking his leg set him back a lot more than he thought it would and I imagine that was frustrating for him.

That trade Mantha thread, other than media over hyping him being available "for the right deal" or whatever, is more about the potential return a top prospect could net than it is about writing off Mantha. Every player is available "for the right deal."

and why would Detroit want that 7M/year pylon?

Agreed. We don't need Toronto's sloppy seconds :P

They said he's training right now for next season and he said he weighs 210 and his goal is to be 220-225 for camp and will try to impress the team and make the lineup

Hopefully pulk is joining him. He needs to put on some muscle for sure..

#2614128 Report: Cleary wants to return for 1 more season

Posted by amato on 12 June 2015 - 12:59 PM

Make no mistake though, losing Nestrasil to Carolina last season was no huge loss, by any stretch.

But look at that smile! He's got the London look :P
