#2533459 Paul McCartney and the Red Wings

Posted by sleepwalker on 01 August 2014 - 01:46 PM

lol @ the city of Pittsburgh

They are such insecure pansies that they had to have their mayor ask Paul to put a Pens sticker on there alongside the Wings sticker, so their poor widdle feelings didn't get hurt.

#2533151 Wings stuff on clearance at Dick's

Lol, no doubt.  The last couple years, this has become one of the most overly PC and heavily censored websites I have experienced in my 15+ years of internet.

Especially absurd when you consider this is a hockey website.

Whatever...

#2531770 Confused on the direction of this team going forward

Posted by sleepwalker on 12 July 2014 - 08:50 AM

Hilarious gif!

To answer the OP though...

Hindsight is always 20/20.

Even at his current contract vs. points/goals produced, Franzen is a good deal.  People like to forget that because he is streaky and admittedly looks lazy as f*** out there a lot of the time.  Name another player that can consistently put up those numbers at his cap hit though.  Can't.  Its not possible in the current NHL.

Filppula has  great potential, but for whatever reason was unable to reach it with us.  To say Weiss is half the player is silly.  You are seriously going to judge him as a hockey player based on one season where he played the first half severely injured, and had to leave for surgery the second?  Come on...  Its way to early to speak on Weiss as a Wing.

Tootoo was bought out as a courtesy to him, so he could continue his NHL career (if a team picks him up) instead of being buried in the minors.

And you didn't even mention Quincey or Cleary.  Those are the two players that are going to handicap the team this season.  (not to mention they are both getting absurd paychecks for sucking)

#2529730 Quincey re-signed by DET. 2 yr s $4.25 mill AAV

Posted by sleepwalker on 03 July 2014 - 10:27 AM

What shocks me most is that there are actually some people defending this signing.

Whether you think Quincey totally sucks or is OK, I think anyone that actually watches hockey and still has firing brain cells can agree that there is no way in HELL that is Quincey worth $4.25 mil.

I've never been one to jump on the Holland hate bandwagon, nor do I hate him now, but I seriously have to wonder what the hell he was thinking with this signing.

To even bring him back to begin with was a dumb move, but to then sign him to another 2 years and give him a RAISE on top of that is beyond comprehension to me.

#2529501 Well...at least we're not Philadelphia. Giroux Arrested.

I disagree with the thread title.

I would MUCH rather have D or Z get drunk and play grab ass with a cop and have to get booked, and maybe get a slap on the wrist and a fine, then have Quincey signed for another 2 years at an absurd $4+ mil.

#2520673 ECF : (5) New York Rangers vs. (4) Les Canadiens de Montréal

Posted by sleepwalker on 15 May 2014 - 03:16 PM

I'm really happy to see this match up.

Not that I am a fan of either team, but because it means that the Bruins and Pens both got knocked out.  :)

Damn, Pavs looking rough.

He looks like his injury is worse now that he is "recovered" then when he was injured.

Never noticed before, but half of the ads on the boards are in Chinese as well as English...

#2498585 James Neal Cross-Check to Glendening's Head [GIF] - Suspension?

Posted by sleepwalker on 21 March 2014 - 08:48 AM

No suspension, because Glendenning forgot to stay down and flop around like a ***** embellishing the hit.

That's the only thing the league suspends for.

#2492724 3/7 GDT: Devils 4 at Red Wings 7

Posted by sleepwalker on 07 March 2014 - 09:00 PM

Nice one on Mule, but...jesus...

The Wings have to have some sort of record in giving up 2-3 goal leads.  If they go up by 2, or god forbid 3, its almost a given at this point that they are going to blow the lead.

#2483868 Zetterberg out with herniated disc

Posted by sleepwalker on 14 February 2014 - 12:53 PM

It truly amazes me how idiotic some people are acting about the players participating in the Olympics.  First the Pav thing, now this.

Hank's back has been injured for a couple years now, its been an ongoing thing.  Anyone who follows the Wings knows this. If he hadn't tweaked it in the Olympic game, he would have tweaked it in the next Wings game.

Can someone message me a link to a stream if possible?

Our cable company is feuding with the company that bought our local NBC, so we don't get NBC anymore.  :(

#2479829 What's wrong with Pasha? (Mod warning post #57)

Posted by sleepwalker on 02 February 2014 - 12:22 PM

If he plays in Sochi while still a bit injured, unlike most people here, I completely understand.

Russia is the host country of the Olympics, and Datsyuk has been named the captain of the Russian team.  That is a HUGE deal.

Of all the hundreds of thousands of professional hockey players in the world only TWO single players every DECADE get that honor.

#2478951 The Hudler Factor

Posted by sleepwalker on 30 January 2014 - 01:54 PM

No, I don't miss him.  He wasn't a good fit here, and was often a detriment to the team due to his small size and getting constantly knocked off the puck by everyone else on the ice.

But hey, Sammy and Quincey were OK here and then left and we brought them back only for them to suck.  Maybe it'll  be the opposite with Hudler.
