#2408209 WCSF Game 3 GDT - Blackhawks 1 @ Red Wings 3 - (DET leads series 2-1)

Posted by sleepwalker on Yesterday, 08:19 PM

I hate how in the NHL in games like this, at points like this in said games, the refs just get crooked and go into "even up" mode.

So, OK, they tried to even it up, they failed, and now they owe us at least two penalty calls...

I think the Sharks are flying under the radar this year.  They are perennial underachievers.  As such, this year, nobody was/is talking about them.  Count the number of LGW posters (above) who picked the Kings.

Everyone here is picking the Kings because we hate the Sharks.

#2403977 Any tips on ways to tolerate the NBC media?

To the first part of your comment, they want the bias by their local color guy on their local channel.  On a national broadcast, I think both sides would just like unbiased commentary.

With Eddie, he is just a sucky commentator.  He is so bad the only way he can call a game is biased.  Pierre Maguire sucks horrible as well and he has no bias at all.  I don't hear any bias from the rest of the NBC crew.

Agreed.  The comments about bias, including my own, were directed squarely at Eddie.

As for me, I don't mind the NBC announcing team.  I really don't know why people are so anal about listening to them.  Its the same attitude that people have when they turn on Fox News all the time, but when a program that they like comes on CNN, they ***** about it.  There are other options thanks to Ken Kal.

As was already pointed out, I don't think as many people would have as much of a problem if they just called the game and left their personal biases out of it.  Bias is fine when you are watching your local color guy, but in national broadcasts, people just want unbiased commenting.

Since you brought up Fox and CNN.  It would be like if you wanted the actual news, without bias, broadcast on a single channel to everyone.  Anyone with a brain in their head would be upset if you picked either CNN or Fox to cover said news, because they are both biased to the point of pretty much just being propaganda stations for their particular sides.

Murph playing without his glasses, and then trying to play with steamed up glasses was funny.  Someone should tell him about contact lenses.

I also like the part around 45 sec where someone gives Ozzy a drink of whatever is in the bottle, and hes like "mmm...that's a delicious blend you have there, my friend"

The Wings Were Not Playing Very Well Early In This Game Even Before All TheGoals Happened. They Had Allkinds Of Chances With Pp Early In The Game. Oh Well, Hope ForA Grea Game Monday

No dis, just a question...

Is there a smart phone app or some program that formats certain replies like this?  I see people post like this now and then is various forums, and am never quite sure.  It is a very bizarre and unnatural style to capitalize the first letter of every word like that.

Or better yet...the History Channel...they have a show that is 100% sword and axe fighting Scandinavians.

Yeah, they also have shows postulating that the dinosaurs might have gone extinct because of aliens shooting lazers at them from their spaceships...

This penalty is why the NHL is a complete joke.

Its like the Kronwall hit on Havlat a few years ago.  No call.  Then for no reason other than the player that got hit going down, they decide to make an extremely late call.  Pure bullsh*t.

#2385655 Franzen.... cares?!

Posted by sleepwalker on 17 April 2013 - 02:29 PM

Of course, you have to remember Franzen's pissed is throwing mouth guards.

Had Franzen not made that move though, none of us would have realized that Kanes mouth guard is magic, and when an opponent pulls it from his mouth, mystical phantom refs materialize out of thin air to protect him.

I can't believe they fire Murph but yet Keating still has a job. Maybe they will give us more Shannon Hogan now.

God, I hope not.

As if that voice of hers wasn't grating enough, like nails on a chalk board, then you add in the lisp on top of it, and hitting the mute button when she comes on is the ony thing I can do to keep me from throwing things at the speakers...lol

Someone posted a really legit explanation a ways back. Darren Eliot is cheaper and fresher. American economics 101. Too many cooks in the kitchen? Get rid of the more expensive non essential.

It also explains why godawful Keating is still employed. He simply does too many things to be expendable.

That and it also goes back to the American Economics 101 you were talking about;

The more friends and connections you make up in high places, the more money you make and the more secure your job becomes, regardless of how horrible you are at it.

Education and personal development is more important than slaving 2 decades of your life away, limiting your human potential by allowing your skills, passions and incredible physical and mental energies to be used as a commodity for a multi-million dollar business.

Its funny that you say this in an attempt to talk about the importance of college, when in reality what you are describing is the whole go to college, get a degree, and become a good little 9-5 work slave for millionaires and billionaires scenario that most people in this country fall victim to...except its usually a LOT more than a mere two decades that they slave away in that job that they hate that their college degree scored them.
