The Wings will need to string together some wins here, starting tonight. This 3 game homestand is huge for us. I have a feeling the boys are going to come out swinging hard tonight, and the crowd is going to be motivating them all night. Going to sound like a playoff game tonight. If you're going to the game tonight, I want to hear you tonight!!
DeKeyser gets his first NHL goal tonight, Mule gets one, and Brunner.
Final score of 4-2 Wings. (DeKeyser, Mule, Brunner, Pasha)

Thanks for saying what I said just using many more words. U described it I gave examples.
You have no idea if DeKeyser, Hank, Pavel, and Howard respond to one style of coaching. You also don't know if Kronner and Franzen need another. So no, you weren't saying what I was trying to say. I was correcting your statement, as it seems to be more aimed towards the person's current play rather than personality.

I agree some guys need it some don't. If you look at our team guys like z DAT Howard even dekeyser and a few others don't need it. While guys like kronwall and franzen do.
It has nothing to do with how a player is currently playing or anything revolving around playing style. As a coach, you need to understand your players. Like any leadership position, you need to know your troops/players. You need to know their individual characteristics and personality. Do they need to get that intense criticism to respond, or do they need some guidance? Some players fold under that pressure, some excel. Coaching is a lot harder than just putting together some lines and telling them to go out there at the right time.
Many coaches read numerous psychology books just strictly because of this reason. They want to learn the different learning styles, the different styles of respond. They need to understand personalities to know how to encourage/discourage.

I'm still not convinced that Hank is healthy. At the very least that groin problem he had is still lingering.

Wow, thats horrible. Is that just speculation, or what?
It's true.

Originally, Nill's wife, who is battling cancer, was training to run in the event. When the training became too difficult for her to manage, Nill committed to take her place
http://www.mlive.com...d_wings_22.html
“I had two great talks with Montreal; I was interested, they were interested,'' Nill said. “But it's not the right time.''
Nill does not have an out clause in his contract this season, but the Canadiens called Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch for permission to speak to him.
Ilitch gave Nill his blessing, telling him the organization appreciates his years of service and his loyalty and that it would not prevent him from joining the Canadiens.
Nill has been the team's assistant GM under Ken Holland for 14 seasons and has spent 18 years in the Red Wings' front office. He runs the amateur scouting department and oversees the selections at the entry draft. He also oversees the development of the organization's prospects with the Grand Rapids Griffins, as well as those in the Canadian junior, European and college ranks.
Nill has four years remaining on his contract, with different out clauses each season.
“My goal is to become a general manager,'' Nill said. “There will be opportunities down the road.''
Seems like he would take a job once his family health is better. I'm not sure how it is currently.

Is anyone watching Red Wings live? Danny DeKeyser was forced into Lidstrom's old locker because it was the only one left. They interviewed him and he was trying to not act too overly happy but my god he looked like a giggly school girl. It was beautiful

dammit, i can't believe I was rooting for Chicago a couple of days ago, and Anaheim later tonight.
Like I said in the GDT two days ago; we aren't cheering for other teams.. we're cheering indirectly for the Wings!

No kidding. It's our offence that's not cutting it. Our D has been playing really good and been chipping in with points. We need our forwards to cash in on their scoring chances.
Yep, IIRC we're sitting 20th at goals for, and 10th at goals against. Our defense isn't the problem, especially when adding DeKeyser to the equation. The boy has helped the back-end more than we really expected. He's even considered as Babcock's final 5. If the offense would start potting them, this team could change pretty dramatically.

Still gotta love the Mule, we know what he's capable of. He has appeared to be trying harder the past few weeks.
Playing center will make you do that
Babcock needs to keep him there.. forever. Make that boy skate and be involved more!!!

Good I hope hes pissed. I hope hes pissed for the next 8 years. Then we may get his playoff production year round.
nothing scarier than playing against a guy with a chip on his shoulder
What he needs is the coach to also help fuel the fire, not tell him that he's performing the way he wants. Always try to get more out of your players. Babcock should know the potential of Mule and should know that he's capable of more. He should dig to get that out of him, not help reinforce the fact that he likes and is doing things good. No, I want 110%. I want it all and I want more, I want your heart on the ice, I want your sweat to turn into blood because there's nothing more you could possibly sweat out. BABY I WANT IT. GIVE IT TO ME.

Some new updates on Datsyuk....
23. Pavel Datsyuk's agent, Gary Greenstin, was in Toronto visiting client Mikhail Grabovski. We talked about rumours Datsyuk will play the last year of his contract next season, then go back to Russia. Greenstin said he'd just been in Detroit and talked with Ken Holland. He wouldn't go too deeply into those conservations, but it did sound like they discussed the possibility of an extension. (Datsyuk cannot sign anything until July 5.) He added that if Datsyuk stays, it will be with the Red Wings. "Playing with one team is very important to him."

Tomorrow could be a big day for separation in the standings. Detroit plays Calgary and Columbus plays Anaheim. If we would come out with a win, and Anaheim does a huge favor in beating CBJ in regulation, we would have 2 points over Columbus with a game at hand. Minnesota plays tonight against Edmonton. If Edmonton wins, it would put us in place to tie with Minnesota, but they have 1 ROW over us. St.Louis plays Vancouver tonight, in which we need Vancouver to win.
If all those things go right come the end of Wednesday night we could be looking at this:
6- Minnesota 49 pts (19 ROW) / 43 GP
7- Detroit 49 pts (19 ROW-if we win in regulation/OT against Calgary) / 43 GP
8- St.Louis 48 pts (20 ROW) / 42 GP
9- Columbus 47 pts (15 ROW) / 44 GP
10- Dallas 45 pts (19 ROW) / 42 GP
I think I got everything correct, but others can scan over it and give me some corrections if needed.
