#2302580 What's the point of the crease?

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 22 May 2012 - 09:54 AM

i would be more then lost without my crease. taking a crease away would almost be like taking the goalies stick away. as you move as a goalie your crease is kind of like your map where you always have a sense as to where you are relative to the net, by where your crease is under you. you would have to take it out in youth hockey and wait to enforce it in the nhl once all the old timers who were accustomed to the crease are gone. to just take howards crease away tomorrow would throw his entire game off, i promise.

Then the league should take the crease away in order to increase goal scoring.

It'll offset all that giant equipment goalies wear nowadays. Seems only fair since goalies are better trained now than they've ever been in the past. They have all the advantages right now.

#2284680 I guarantee we win this series

That's alright, it's definitely not the Predators year (nor will it be in a long time)

red wing fans must love rubbing it in preds fans faces, how great the detroit red wings are,how many cups they have won,how post-seasons they have appeared in,and how many future hall of famers they have

Preds in 5, sorry this just ain't your year :)

#2284043 Justin Abdelkader

Posted by Gnredwing on 13 April 2012 - 01:05 AM

Does anyone else think Abdelkader should be out of the lineup, he is useless, all he does is get his ass kicked when he fights and doesn't do anything offensively. He makes me sick, why he is still in the lineup is beyond me!

#2280598 Dan Cleary openly admits to being at 50%

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 09 April 2012 - 03:42 PM

He shouldn't be playing.

Some guys can play at 50% and still help the team. As we've seen all season, Cleary at 50% is not helping the team at all. In fact, he's hurting the team and is rather easy to play against right now.

He needs to sit.

Nashville in 4. Our Defense is weak, we have forwards that turn the damn puck over all the time, along with defensive errors over and over. Oh yeah, our Powerplay is nonexistant and they happen to have the best power play at home. Did I mention the fact this team is 17-21-3 on the damn road................... Game, Set, Match. Sorry Folks.

Preds in 5 or 6. Sorry, love the Wings but I've got to be realistic. Preds have reloaded whereas we got Quincey.

#2278725 Welcome Back Mule!

He was on the 3rd line, for like 4-5 games, and was equally as terrible there as he had been.

On top of that, the 3rd line at the time with Abdelkader, Miller, and Helm was one of, if not our best line. They were really grinding the opposition defense, providing a lot of garbage and chaos in front of the crease, and even putting the puck in the net at a decent clip (considering its essentially a Grind Line). Ironically, we demoted Franzen to the 3rd line and instead of lighting a fire under him and while providing the checking line with a useful big body, he continued to suck tremendous ass and effectively cooled down that line until Helm's injury.

Pretty sad when the most accountability he's seen is being demoted 4 games or so, and still playing so badly that Babcock just gave up on the experiment and put him back on the first line. Its been two seasons straight now in which Babcock disrupts the chemistry throughout his lineup just trying to get Johan Franzen to play like he's capable of. Line 2 has chemistry? Put him there! Line 3 has chemistry? Put him there! Line 1 is starting to come around and score consistently? Great, its fixed; put him there! *sigh*

Franzen being on the ice with the net empty in a big game, brings back bad memories.

But he was on the ice because that line iced (supposedly) the puck.

I am not 100 percent sure but I think Babs put his line out a few seconds before the icing.

Quincy looks like a huge upgrade, he may teach Big E some defense with any luck! Ken Holland needs to find 5 more Helms before Monday.
