my lawyer will be contacting you.

I should've remembered I'm posting on a US-based forum :P

Great save there by Jimmy.

With due respect to Pav, Flip, White and so on but our MVP so far this season has by far been Jimmy Howard. He's been exceptional.

Homer has been great, both Emmerton goals his pressure on the forecheck created the chance.

Eugh, that was pretty squarely on Huds. Can't get out of the zone, then starts chasing the play and his man is wide open.

Conner has strength in those legs, just pushed right through a wall of Jets to create that chance.

EDIT: Damn, Flip needs to do something there, not just slide around and send it to the boards...

This line is so hot I'm going to blame them for global warming.

Really nice to see Z racking up some points. When the twins are rolling we become a really hard team to stop.

Is it just me or do the yellow Preds jerseys look utterly horrible?

Regardless of whether that was a deflection Emmerton and Eaves played that very well. Making it as difficult for Raycroft to see the puck as possible. And obviously can't forget Miller digging it out on the side and getting it to White... all in all, a pure effort goal.

#2217106 Nick Lidstrom's 1500 NHL career game

Posted by Cevari on 21 October 2011 - 10:06 PM

An amazing number for sure. An interesting fact I read somewhere about this is that Nick will be the third ever player to play over 1500 games and only play for one team in his entire career, and the other two have also been Wings (Delvecchio and Yzerman). Ray Bourque is the only player to have played over 1500 games for a single franchise that isn't the Red Wings, with Howe also joining into that 4 (now 5 with Nick) player group. Pretty impressive in my opinion, and really just says something about this organisation and the respect it has always shown to those who served it well.

Let's have a good one for el Capitan! :siren:

Helm diving face-first to block a shot scares the s*** out of me :P

Don't get hurt Helm! It's your season!

(Love the effort though)

Looks like the Captain wants to shut the "too old" -crowd up quick this season. I don't mind.

Sick goaltending matchup going on in the Flyers - Bruins game. Bryz and Thomas both showing up for their paychecks worth so far.

#2185457 Janne Lahti

Posted by Cevari on 15 June 2011 - 01:19 PM

Lahti is a picture-perfect example of a player who does well in the FEL but wouldn't be anything in the NHL if you ask me. Relies too much on skill, which is enough playing in a bigger rink with way less skilled players against him but put him in the NHL and suddenly he has no room and even the opposing grind liners can reach the same skill levels, with better speed and strength in many cases.

Unless they want him in GR I don't see any point in bringing him over. Would love to be proven wrong of course, the more finns the merrier.

#2184086 Thoughts on Sami Salo?

Posted by Cevari on 09 June 2011 - 12:45 PM

All the injury related posts reminded me of this topic I saw on HFBoards a few days ago.

No Guts, No Glory - Sami Salo

The guy is like a lightning rod for bad luck and would probably break his collarbone getting off the plane from Van. I like him but I have no interest in us signing him.
