I get it, the missed offsides is the NHL refs' version of subtle interference.

I'm hitting the road, Let's Go Wings! I'd love to arrive home and find a few more in our goal column.

Wow, if the offsides call is that bad, is O'Halloran reffing?

Xym we have played all of 10 seconds of the first two periods that resulted in a 1-0 lead somehow.

Howard has been stunning. The rest of the team has been underwhelming.

Damn, and we just got a lead? Hopefully it makes Edzo the d*****nozzle have an apoplectic stroke.

Grabbing a bite to eat before a 23 mile drive home from playing an Ash Wednesday service. What is the short recap?

Neither, I have a brown thumb and would be imposing a death sentence on any plants I'd buy, though I do like them.

Rabbits: normal ears or lop-eared?

Gotta gwt more pucks through.. weve been better all game but cant get shots through

Agreed. I've seen the boys carry the play all night then have one lapse or bad call in the third cost them far too many times over the years. Time to come out hard and torch Price's GAA in a big way in the third.

O'Hallaran....the only ref in the NHL I'm convinced hates the Wings.

He certainly has an.... Interesting and distinguished resume of reffing (screwing) the Wings, doesn't he?
Still, no PP for the Habs... Yet.

Interesting stat posted during the Wings game - Pulkkinen is the first Griffin to have back to back 30 goal seasons.

Man Price is ridiculous

Great goalie, but his diving and cheapness gets old quickly.

Somebody should have pulled the Probert cannonball on Price after that dive robbed Pavel.

#2570928 Franson to Preds

Would of been a 1st and pulkkinen I'm guessing

The first would have been too high, let alone sending Pulkamania to run wild in Toronto. Then again, they'd probably sign him to a Kessel-like contract after he unleashes the Holy Slapper ™ for an NHL goal in this home rink.

#2570926 2/14 GDT : Jets 5 at Red Wings 4 (SO)

The Jets as a whole played with a lot of.... "Enthusiasm" on the ice. They're my pick for a first round upset in the West if they get in.

#2570923 Franson to Preds

Posted by TheXym on 15 February 2015 - 12:24 PM

Bit of a surprise but I agree the price was too steep for what he'd bring to the Wings, and I concur it would have been even steeper for the Wings. He's a good fit for the Preda, though. Looks like they're planning to make a serious run in the postseason.

Overall, the Leafs got fleeced, though. If that continues, after their fire sale, it could be really ugly for the white and blue.

#2570921 Detroit Red Wings - All Time Team

Posted by TheXym on 15 February 2015 - 12:21 PM

Way too many greats to choose from, so I'm going to make two teams... And still there are a lot of pretty good players left out...

Brendan Shanahan - Steve Yzerman - Brett Hull
Vyacheslav Kozlov - Igor Larionov - Sergei Fedorov
Henrik Zetterberg - Pavel Datsyuk - Tomas Holmstrom
Bob Probert - Kris Draper - Dino Ciccarelli
Ray Sheppard - Darren McCarty

Nicklas Lidstrom - Vladimir Konstantinov
Paul Coffey - Chris Chelios
Matthew Schneider - Brian Rafalski
Niklas Kronwall

Dominik Hasek
Chris Osgood

Ted Lindsay - Alex Delvecchio - Gordie Howe
Syd Howe - Sid Abel - Norm Ullman
Frank Mahovlich - Marcel Dionne - Mickey Redmond
Gerard Gallant - Dale McCourt - John Ogrodnick
Jimmy Carson - Nick Libett

Red Kelly - Marcel Pronovost
Mark Howe - Reed Larson
Willie Huber - Larry Murphy
Gary Bergman

Terry Sawchuk
Glenn Hall

That's probably the best way to do it due to both the huge differences between eras and the vast number of great players the Wings have been fortunate to have on their roster. I mean, how many other teams would have the alumni for two games at a Winter Classic that were actually higher end when they played?

#2570916 DD starting to get the love....

I'm pretty sure Richdg is the only one that seen the defensive prowess in DeKeyser's game... or at the very least, he was the first to tune into his ability... Everyone else, join the bandwagon...

Can I put the wheels on the bandwagon? ;)
