Datsyuk with a nice hit on Girgensons.

Tatar atones for the giveaway with a tap in of the rebound to restore the two goal lead.

#2562963 Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?

Kenny actually works the phones? Maybe for hookers and pizza...

I thought that was Hudler. ;)

I'd rather see him make a good hockey trade rather than a trade for the sake of making a trade.

Buffalo feed said it was the 7th shorty they allowed, and the first shorty scored by "Dee-Troy-It".

Scary breakaway by Moulson but he shot wide. Buffalo feed saying Quincey playing with fire with his cross checks.

All that fancy puck handling and nothing to show for it.

Sounds like a Wings game. ;)

Ok so why are they singing the Canadian national anthem?  Last time I knew Buffalo and Detroit were in the U.S.

I think partly it's been held over from when all the teams sang the Canadian Anthem at their games after the Ottawa shootings. Lots of Ontario folks are season ticket holders for the Sabres also. Just guesses on my part, however.

Is it just me, or was the ceremony way too short? Yzerman and Lidstrom's were much better, imho. Though both had much longer tenure with the Wings and were career Wings whereas Hasek was more travelled. Or, was the keep it simple and short done to appease MSG Network (the Buffalo broadcaster).

Classy words from Dom.

It's weird because I think of him more as a Wing than a Sabre

Same here, but his most dominant years were with the Sabres. Imagine if he played for a team that was actually good before his Wings years.

Danny Gare, another Red Wings alum if I recall correctly.

Best Hasek memory was definitely the Gaborik launching. Hopefully they show it during the tribute video and it inspires Mrazek.

I'm stuck with the Buffalo feed due to it being local to the Binghamton Time Warner Cable, but at least I will be able to see the ceremony.

Here's hoping the Wings light it up on the Sabres in a big way. As in Oprah picks up the Wings scoresheet and starts playing "Hank gets a point! Pavel gets a point! EVERYBODY GETS A POINT!!!!!111!" for them on the scoreboard.

Sorry to digress, but BoS's avatar looks like Betty While after she stole a hot dog from Murph. Was McGrattan her bodyguard?

I know this isn't going to be popular with anyone except for krsmith, but I'd actually try Smith up with Kronwall. If it blows up, switch it back. Isn't the definition of insanity trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? Kronwall-Ericsson isn't working - they've got 6 even strength points together, and they're not exactly a defensive stalwart. I think throwing Smith up there might actually generate some offense, and perhaps showcase him for a trade (krsmith won't like this part).
Ericsson just can't seem to keep it together this year. I like the idea of balancing pairs, regardless of where they're supposed to fit, (Top 4 vs. Top 6, etc.) but Ericsson hasn't brought much balance to the pair up to this point. Honestly, I would try DeKeyser up there with Kronwall as well, but I think trying this first kind of gauges where Smith is at, and also leaves our strongest pair together (for now).

When Smith and Kronwall were paired last season they seemed to click well together. I'd be fine with it. I also like the balanced pairs idea, if it is done wisely. If you are going offensively minded with a stay at home pair, I don't think Kindl/Lashoff is a good idea unless it is in very sheltered minutes, and that is pushing it. ;)

#2562657 Jimmy Howard.......All-Star!

Mrazek will be fine, IMHO. I have a feeling he is going to step up like Fedorov did when Yzerman was hurt and had to be "the man". If they can muster some goals so Mrazek doesn't have to wear his backpack and carry them by stealing every game, they should be just fine.

I'm at the Dinosaur in Syracuse again, top notch BBQ has been a good luck charm for the boys. Let's Go Wings!

I'd love to see Pulks light it up as well.

Would McGrattan work as the drummer for "Suttal Intahference" since he is good at banging heads? ;)

Or is Burke setting him up for a new group, "Thundering Truculence"?
