I second the props to PredsFan. I appreciate the updates, and, for a fan of an opposing team, PF is pretty darn classy about not trolling like some others we've had to deal with (centcougar, anyone?) and also contributes to the forum in a positive way.

Lol, I'm acutally Swiss and even I think that this is not a big deal...for sure not worth to post it here...

Fiala is not NHL-ready. Needs at least one more year in Sweden. Pretty sure he'll return.

Then don't read it, problem solved.

PredsFan is providing a lot of useful information and at least in my mind an absolute enrichment for this forum. Sometimes it's really nice to know what's going on with other organisations and be it just for comparisons.

Thanks Hockeymom,I kind of just ignore that ones that tell me that i'm on the wrong board and let the mods take care of it.

Don't let them get you, I'm for one very happy to have you here and get some nice info about the Preds.

The first one was just insane almost an 360 degree circle and then pulling it off like this some serious skill here. Do you think Fiala is ready to make the team ? Nashville for what I know is hurting on the offensive side and I guess LaViolette will play his run and gun style no matter what ?

So what? I don't care...wrong board.

Trying to compare sizes with Jurco's moves? Shootout skills won't turn your franchise into a contender, I'm afraid

Hey now PredsFan is one of our favorite non Wings fan first.

These awards are a joke any way.  Only one that matter is The Cup.

#2524963 2014 Offseason League Signings and Trades

Posted by haroldsnepsts on 20 June 2014 - 09:55 PM

I think the mods took a vacation from the site, because there's a full on recruiting pitch for the hare Krishna in the minor and pro league affiliate forum, and its been there for a full day now.

Someone could've reported it so it would be brought to a mods attention.

We don't see every single post in every forum, especially in the offseason.  Reports help us clean up things like that quicker.

I don't know that the thread needs to be pinned.  The activity should keep it near the top if there's anything going on.

#2520555 Puck Daddy: Trotz Head Coach for Caps

Posted by FireCaptain on 14 May 2014 - 11:28 PM

The Capitals contacted Trotz, who is arguably the most coveted coach currently on the market, not long after they dismissed Adam Oates and George McPhee in late April, and there is mutual interest.

“They were one of the first teams to reach out and asked what my plans were. I told them I would like to coach and they said they would love to talk to me. But obviously, they’re in the search for their general manager right now,” Trotz said in a phone interview. “From my standpoint of wanting another opportunity, a lot of things excite me about the Capitals and the other teams that are out there. A new challenge, to me, is really exciting.”

Seems like Trotz is pretty interested in Washington.

#2520397 Canada can support 3 more teams in 20yrs

Posted by WorkingOvertime on 14 May 2014 - 01:24 PM

The Canadian sports media goes crazy over any Canadian team now and I'm sure CBC or TSN would be all over a deal. Hell, CBC even shows games in Punjabi so I'm sure they'd want to serve English Nordique fans. As for financial backing, the municipality is building them a rink and there's not even a team yet so clearly there's money to back them.

Also, the Canadian dollar argument isn't as meaningful as it used to be since the CAN dollar has been pretty high for quite a while.

The problem with expansion in Canada from the NHL point of view is that the media and citizens are already into hockey. That is, the NHL wants teams in new areas (like Seattle) where the television market is large and they can get new fans watching hockey, buying merchandise, etc. As I said before, I would like a team in Quebec City.

There is nothing wrong with Saskatoon, but some players would probably like to get out of the cold climate of Canada and go some where with a warmer climate.there is reason why the Nhl puts teams in places that don't really have hockey climate weather

I think want out because of the constant scrutiny and no privacy. Most hockeyplayers can afford to have two houses, so its easy to buy one for the winter and one for the summer
