To read this forum you'd think everyone hates this team. A majority of the team is mentioned at one time or another as "sucks". Maybe they should trade them all and quit selling pizza! Sheesh, it's one game.

I think they forgot, their PP is supposed to scare the opposing team. Instead, it scares me....

The only change I would like to see is better clearing in front of our net. Watch other teams when a wing is in front of their net and the wing ends up on the ice or knocked out of the way. In front of our net, the wings seem to be content to try to clear the puck or tie up sticks. The opposing player rarely gets cleared out. This does not require an "enforcer", just some physical play.

Wings are americas team, no doubt about it. All you have to do is compare the fans in opposing rinks. There is a lot more red in those crowds. Hard to argue with the Lets go Red Wings chant heard at away games...

Wings got lazy as the period went on imo.
- Ericsson sucks. I am sorry but I hate him and think he is a big waste of money. He is the sole reason the Ducks scored by his dumb giveaway along the boards.
- If this lazy play continues Id like to see Babs mix up the top 2 lines to get some chemestry going.
- I agree with the refs on the 1st and 3rd penalty calls, but that call on Hank was invisible... the Ducks did way more interfering that period and got away with it. IMO we are owed a few calls in the 2nd period.
Ericsson isn't the sole reason. White had full control of the puck behind the net but couldn't find an outlet. He spun several times before giving up the puck to the Ducks pressure.

Some things I noticed during the game, I like the on ice mikes turned up so you can't hear the NBC fools very well, and Dumzo's complaints of Detroit having too many men all the time. I think he counts 5 wings and realizes the Wings should only have four because of league mandated penalties

Quite a game for my first time at the Joe! The two glaring liabilities I saw were Big E and Emmerton. I'm hopeful that Big E can regain some form of consistancy and that Emmerton can learn and improve.

After watching the Wings for over 50 years, I will be attending my first live Wing game next month. My wife bought tickets for our anniversary. Can't wait, YEE HAW!
