I think when a Sharks fan takes pot shots at the fanbase, I think he can be rebuked for it.
Some may not think it is a pot shot. Some may think of it as an inferiority complex.
Actually, it was nothing more than a simple attempt at humor. Some of the fanbase saw it that way, took it as good-naturedly as I intended it, and said so publicly. Others did not, and rebuked instead. I can most definitely live with that, both the compliments and the rebukes. I never aim to please everyone, and I don't see common courtesy and respect in terms of walking on eggshells. For anyone.
In addition, if Matt wants to open up a "Photoshop Niceties" thread, I would be happy to create nice, thread-appropriate stuff for that as well.
For that matter, if someone had an idea for a pic that skewered the Sharks in some way (even one that takes pot shots at the fan base), I wouldn't have a problem tackling it, if I thought the idea was good enough. Humor cuts in all directions. No sacred cows here.
My friend Betty was telling me that Cheli did an autograph session at a Verizon store in Okemos (near Lansing) the other day, and her niece was there. She's a huge Cheli fan. He was supposed to sign from 1-2, but he came in and started at 12:30, telling people, "I have to leave at 2 on the dot. I have to be at the Joe." She said he was gracious and kind, and he spent time with her niece, who is mentally challenged. He signed her jersey for her, took pictures with her, and Betty said Bonnie was "over the moon." I'll see if I can get some of her pictures to show you, but I thought you'd like that.
