Does this mean the third line is Bertuzzi - Abby - Cleary for tonight? That should be fun.

Excited to see Tatar, however, especially playing with Pavel. Lashoff deserves to be dressed after his previous performances. Kindl is getting close or already there to being a case of he's never going to develop.

I think it's a good spot for Bert, he can move up if needed but at this point of his career he's a 3rd liner and 2nd unit PP guy.  As for Cleary his spot should be about 50 rows up in the press box.

#2351241 Stats Thus Far for Suter and Weber

Posted by puckbags on 05 February 2013 - 09:41 AM

Well Parise looks good. 6M good, not 10M good of course.

PS Suter is your Brad Stuart. Weber is off to a slow start. He'll get his 40pts.

40 pts? I will willing to take all bets on that..he wouldn't get 40 pts in a 82 game season.

Tis the season for all the NHL to rejoice.  The Wings are no longer the standard bearers.  Could it be that we have a few very bad years ahead of us so that we can rebuild?  My friends, welcome to NHL mortality.

Jesus dude..we had a bad night..we beat arguably the best team in the west last night.  4-3-1.  Stinker against St. Louis on opening night and this hunk of garbage tonight. Relax

But we'd be much better off with those 6 and 7 million dollar goalies.  We're not the team anymore that scores 3+ goals a game and gives up around 25 shots.  We need a goalie to carry this team.

Look at his save percentage this season.  I realize the defense is terrible, but that's what great goalies do.  They carry their teams into the playoffs despite crappy play around them.  Howard is a solid netminder, but he's not elite enough for a team that doesn't have enough talent surrounding him.

It all comes back to Kenny and the mediocre roster he allowed us to be left with.

Clearly, or Cleary?   ;)

:eh:

Today?

I'm pretty sure you would find a way to be negative in a swimming pool full of naked women and 100 dollar bills

Howard being mediocre again.  Guy goes down more often than a pornstar.

Clearly he is this teams biggest issue

Tell your story walking Backes!! - Wasn't to the head but I can see why in realtime they thought it was.

Huh? Real time. Slow mo. Super speed that was a terrible hockey call.

Shannahan - Datsyuk - Ullman
Zetterberg

Lidstrom - Chelios
Fetisov - Coffey
Larson - Pronovost

Sawchuk

#16 Would look good in that d crew also.

#2345484 Franzen should have been at Tae Bo class during the lockout

Posted by puckbags on 23 January 2013 - 02:10 PM

So let me get this straight we have a 30 goal guy on a very reasonable 3.95 mill per year cap hit and we should just buy him out? put him on waivers? send him to work at Ikea?  Does the Mule need to work harder shift in and shift out ? Yea of course he does but he isn't going anywhere.

Zajac - 423 games played - 91 goals 5.75 mill per ( but he's got potential lol)

Mule -  472 games played - 150 goals 3.95 per ( his ceiling is 30..maybe 35 but we know what we have )

His contract is too good to trade unless it makes alot of sense.

#2345419 Call up the kids now

Posted by puckbags on 23 January 2013 - 11:56 AM

Screw Huskins, Sammy, Bert. Etc. Get the kids up now and throw em in the fire. Why give all that experience to rentals?

Your posts continue to provide us with great clarity..considering we are down 4 d men I don't think we have much choice at the back end.  Up front I'm not sure what you're implying...whether you like Sammy or not you don't sign a guy and then just say beat it..same with Bert..if you got involved cheering for this team thinking that young guys just get plunked into the lineup you're wrong..we are almost loyal to a fault for over developing guys. Huskins isn't going to be a rental.he was probably our best d man last night..nice to have a stay at home guy back there..Nyquist has done nothing to warrant staying up at least for the time being. 3 games in is not time for the fire sale.  Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelaxxxxxx maaaaaaaaaaan

#2344648 Red Wings sign D Kent Huskins to 1-year, $750k contract

Posted by puckbags on 22 January 2013 - 03:16 PM

Yea, why have confidence in Holland?  All the playoff appearances, the Stanley Cups as recent as 2008 and the finals in 2009.  I mean, geez, he really has lost it.  I give up.  You win.

I agree, people keep coming up with this lame argument that he inherited the team from Bowman..well no s*** he did..everyone inherits a team from someone. Kenny was lucky as hell to get his from Bowman.  Its the same lame argument people used to make about Ozzie, " he's just a product of his team, he's not that good".  Well what did you expect Ozzie to do back then , " Mr Holland, I don't wish to play for this team you've put in front of me, they are too good and I don't want people to think I'm maybe better then what I am". He still had to stop enough pucks to win everynight and he did a good job of that.  Does Kenny have flaws..of course he did but he's done a pretty good job of carrying on the legacy of this franchise.  Sometimes I wish he had a little itchier trigger finger but on the other hand he's kept this team competitive pre cap and post cap and as fans what more can we ask for?

yes he definitely deserves to stay up, esp. with "Glass Joe Colaiacovo" going down yet again

Who's next in line to come up if E can't play? Cola is clearly done for a bit..he couldn't even move his arm.. is the E-Reader Kindl going to be ready ?

My musings :

1, Wayyyy better effort up front from our forwards

2.. Our D is shockingly slow

3. Our special teams are special thats for sure..maybe short bus special..or you can have the closest parking spot to the door special

4. Cleary is a plug and Babs just forces him on us.

Good to get 2 points on the board

The only thing that makes tonight's loss somewhat tolerable is the fact the Nucks have given up 5 to Anaheim halfway through the game.  Start Schneider, trade Luongo..hold up maybe keep Lou, trade Schneider..ah crap who knows...Can't wait for the controversy to start.
