#2655646 Jakub Kindl traded to Panthers

Posted by puckbags on 27 February 2016 - 05:32 PM

I can't speak for every one else, but I'd rather have Quincey next season.

I don't think Ericsson is worth his 4.25M, and he's got four years left at that hit. It's more about how his contract is handcuffing the team for me.

What is he worth then? He falls right into the value of what similar players make. Just because you don't like him doesn't make his value less. I hate to tell you but 4 million is a pretty pedestrian cap hit these days. Similar players in his range are Emelin, Larson, Brodin, Tanev, Coburn....Would I prefer some of these guys over E?? sure I would but his cap hit is right where it should be.

#2650511 Players Tribune: John Scott A Guy Like me

Great read. All star game is a sideshow, John Scott playing in it is a sideshow but considering the NHL tried to completely screw him over I'm glad he's going.  Get rid of the all star game, give these guys 5-7 days off to recharge and we would get better hockey the last 30-35 games.

#2649526 Joakim Andesson on Waivers

Posted by puckbags on 22 January 2016 - 08:47 PM

I sure hope we get to see Jensen, its my opinion, he is the better of the 3 down there, PLUS if gets in, we'd have 3 RH'd d-men playing! Crazy!  I'd bring him up and give either E or Smith some games off here and there for the next month or so...

Love this, Smith has probably been playing his best hockey as a Wing and you want him to sit for what reason? E i totally agree with.

Wings tried to trade Kindl for draft pick but couldn't. Teams wanted them to take back a player in return and they can't assume more salary.

Kind of crazy they actually put him on waivers, but after how much praise Marchenko has received lately I kind of figured it would happen.

I'm kind of surprised they couldn't get a 7th round pick for him, or a borderline bust prospect or something, but still, good stuff.

The problem is that he just doesn't have enough value to trade for even for a late round pick when teams know he is going on waivers most likely.  They might as well try their chances and if they don't get him oh well.

He gave Primeau and Coffey more salary than he took on it. He had a balls to make trades... Something which Kenny is missing. Kenny is not team builder, he's more maintenance manager...

I agree he had the balls to do it but it's not possible to make trades like that now.  We can't just chop a couple of guys out of our lineup and trade some prospects and picks for 4-5 million salary without sending some the other way.

I don't give a sh*t about back to backs or how many games in how many nights we play. Can we please go with Mrazek for 5-6 games in a row and let him roll.  He is our best goalie...end of story.

Green would help on the pp if only Blash puts him out on the first unit, keep putting Kronwall out there aint helping and

by the time Green gets out on a pp theres usually only 25 or so seconds left.

6 milly a year for a guy who has made a career out of being an offensive d man.  I think it's time to get him on the first unit.  To be honest I would go back to 3 forwards and 2 d on the PP.  Z - D - Abby - Green - Kronwall and then whatever other 5 guys you want to put on the second unit.  Gus, Tatar, Larkin, Richards etc....

My observance from this game : Every time Big E is on the ice he makes a mistake. First game back or not he is so average.

....ANOTHER blown lead with Howard in goal? Hmmmm.....

honestly, I think its getting to the point where Holland needs to find that "piece" that puts us over the top. Mrazek IS our goalie, Smth, E and K are ALL expendable. Helm is playing better, his worth has increased some.  It's time to make some calls.

The fact you are questioning the goaltending in this game would leave me to believe you didn't watch the game? This isn't even a game after 40 minutes if Howard didn't counter our weak effort with good saves.  Now don't get me wrong he looked like me dancing at my xmas party on the OT winner but he was hardly the reason for the loss.

Watch it with that. Don't be accusing people on being on drugs there guy.

Nobody is questioning Nyquist's OT contributions. So quit makin stuff again. Again.

You may want to learn how to take a joke.  Is this really what the world has come to?  I'm pretty sure he wasn't saying that anyone for certain has a drug problem. It's called a figure of speech.

#2636609 Day to Day Practice thread

Ah yes, Smith's resume: -

Sound like a 12 year old during interviews - check

Make idiotic plays - check

Get the "dumbest red wing" title - check

Hit the captain on open ice during game - check

Get involved in a team practice fight (probably the first time since Primeau/Probert fight) - check

Way to keep it classy in the Red Wing's organization guys.

Slight over reaction perhaps? One of the classiest organizations in sports......ever.  It's a little dust up, who cares.  10 years ago we wouldn't have even heard about this.  These guys spend a lot of time together, stuff like this is bound to happen.

@HeleneStJames: Blashill planning on playing Andreas Athanasiou Friday.
@AnsarKhanMLive: Blashill said Datsyuk playing tomorrow on line with Zetterberg and Abdelkader.

That makes my day right there !!

#2634070 Predict Where The Wings Finish

Posted by puckbags on 30 October 2015 - 02:54 PM

Right now things are not looking too hot.

I'm not too high on Blashill but never really was.

All that being said, I believe the players know what to do and will get it done.

Wings finish W2 and face Canadiens in the first round of the playoffs. A matchup that actually plays well for them.

What do you think? Playoffs? Stanley Cup?

Interested to know what the reasoning for this is? Classy guy, won at every level

I hope Marchenko plays good enough not to get sent down again, he's better than 3 of the d on this team right now.

For those who have been fans since the early 90's this is the longest personal drought without a cup.  7 years now...not sure if I should be disappointed or if I sound like a spoiled s*** head who's seen his team win 4 cups lol.
