i feel everyones pain but guys come on did you honestly think he was going to do anything this is the same team he likes them not going to do anything different his convienced that bert helm and sammy are going help this team pole jump into the PO

Ya meanwhile none of them can stay healthy. Sammy is hurt either before his first game coming back, or 10 minutes in. Worst signing ever!!!

Well since we're not gonna do anything Kenny better play the right f****** players in the right spot. Sick and tired of see dusters in the top6. Get Tatar, nyquist, and Danny d in the lineup now!

#2378789 An interesting point about our apparent deadline strategy

Posted by Nyquistfan14 on 02 April 2013 - 03:49 PM

If I were Datsyuk, I'd walk into Kenny's office and demand a trade off this sinking ship.  But, Pav would never do that.  He'll just deke Kenny out and go back to work.  He'll carry this whole organization by himself, if he has to.  That's just so unfair to him.

Pav is my favorite player of all time. He deserves to have someone to play with. The guy is still so dominant. Get him someone really good to play with and who knows maybe he re-signs for a couple more years.

I'd rather lose a first and a good prospect for a star player plus two more years of pav playing with that star player

Here's the thing I don't understand about Kenny's philosophy.  He doesn't want to do something and get worse, but he also doesn't realize that by doing nothing and getting older, you are getting worse.  Each year he doesn't do anything, our already aging core gets a year older.  And there's nothing on the horizon to suggest that we've got a new core in the making.  Even our highly touted prospects aren't the next great wave or Red Wings.  The next wave would have been guys Abby, Helm, Kindl, and Ericsson's age, and if that's our new core then watch out.
If he continues to do nothing and hopes that internal growth will fix these problems, he's likely to lose Datsyuk and Flip, while Z, Kronwall, and Franzen decline and there will be NOBODY there to pick up that slack.
Unless, of course, you think Nyquist and Tatar are the answer.  I don't.

I totally agree. And it's not like he doesn't trade and does all his business on July 1st. He does nothing. This has been the exact same team for 4 years, except we are older and have lost 3 top 4 d-men, one being a HOF'er, other being great d-man, and the other being a rock. What have we brought in? Nothing!

I'm so sick of holland doing nothing. He's wasting the last few years of a legendary career in pavel datsyuk, just like he did with lids.

Worst part is that he refuses to play young players that are ready to produce

#2378731 Holland: "We don't need depth...Need a top guy"

Posted by Nyquistfan14 on 02 April 2013 - 02:22 PM

I agree with some people here.  This isn't a bad thing.  No one is trading their elite players away, and as Holland said, we are in need of top guys.  Jagr and Bouwmeester are not top guys.

Yep. So go get eriikson/ gaborik/ vanek/ pomonville

I ain't giving up 2 prospects and a high-level pick for a 42 yr old... no chance!
Especially since we are not that close to a cup run... smart move
I prefer Gaborik, etc

It's not so much the fact that he didn't get him. It's the fact that there's a really big chance holland will make 0 moves. All year other teams have no problem doing it. We have a deep prospect pool

Mike Heika ‏@MikeHeika33s
Jaromir Jagr to Boston. I'm hearing two prospects and a draft pick.

There goes another one. Kenny's probably not even near a phone.

It's always "the asking price is too high", and why aree the goddamn Bruins so frigging special?!  The Wings are so close to having something special and Kenny has to see this...

It's because Kenny doesn't realize you have to give up something to get something. That's what July 1st is for Kenny. Oh wait you never do anything there either cause you want everyone to play for peanuts

#2378431 4/1 GDT : Avalanche 2 at Red Wings 3

Posted by Nyquistfan14 on 01 April 2013 - 11:18 PM

I guess I have no problems with that except isn't Bert gonna be back soon?
Also we don't really know what Helm's status is either? Meaning this season?
Don't forget Sammy!!!
I tend to usually leave my line combos to the coach.
Even if I dislike what Babs lines are.

What your saying right here is the problem. Weather it's babs or holland or a combination of both but we value players like Sammy, cleary, miller, eaves, etc over guys like Tatar and nyquist. You can't honestly tell me those guys are better. If Tatar and nyquist wer up playing solid roles all year we would be in a better spot then we are now. As well they would be even better players than they already are.

It's nice to have vets, but when your stars are already vets it comes to the point where we don't need guys like cleary, Sammy, miller, etc. are best players are vets and have been there in the playoffs. They are perfect for guys like Nyq and Tatar.

We are not a team like Edmonton where are whole top 6 is under 25 years old and we need vets to fill the depth to help the young guys. We have enough veteran presents. What we need is some utheful enthusiasm up front.

Tatar and nyquist will help provide that. Please babs and Kenny free these two!

#2377609 Brunner hasn't hit the wall. He has slammed into it.

Posted by Nyquistfan14 on 01 April 2013 - 09:42 AM

I don't think he's playing bad at all. He's not getting goals, but who is? And he's on the 3rd line while Abdelkader plays with our best playmaker. Brunner is skating well, doing much better defensively than he was early on, and he's pretty involved offensively. If players like Ovechkin can go through long goalscoring droughts then so can Brunner. But we can't rely on him alone to score all our goals.

This! From what I've seen brunner is working his *** off! At least he's putting an effort in unlike some players up front. Guy should be datsyuk's trigger man right now! Wasting him on the 3rd line

#2377530 Lindy Ruff an option?

Posted by Nyquistfan14 on 31 March 2013 - 08:44 PM

I realize all that.  I understand that Parise, Suter, Iginla, etc. didn't want to come here because we're not all that, and there's parity now.
However, after Holland didn't get what he wanted, he made stupid moves for injury riddled players, which are completely useless to us.  Sammy, Colaicovo, Gustavsson, Quincey.  Overpayment for all of them, when you consider what they've brought.  That's what I'm upset with more than anything else.  It's totally fair to criticize Holland for this.
It's also fair to criticize Babcock.  How does Tatar not fit into anything?  He's scoring goals (something we need badly), and he's shown that he can play along the boards.  Babcock also clowned us with a Datsyuk, Abdelkader, Cleary line for several weeks.  Nyquist gets called up, but quickly sent down because he can't score on the lower lines.  No s***.  No one can score on our lower lines.
Fans aren't just irrationally spouting hate.  We have arguments to back up our frustrations.  Poor moves by the management and poor coaching / line changes / sending the wrong players down.

This and a thousand times over! This is why I'm so frustrated with things. It's clear as day that the best 18 players are not on the ice on a regular basis.

#2377359 Lindy Ruff an option?

Posted by Nyquistfan14 on 31 March 2013 - 03:32 PM

Nyquist spent time on the 1st and 2nd lines against the Sharks and was completely ineffective. He also got plenty of power play time and was absolutely ineffective there also.

He spent 2 shifts on a top 6 line against the sharks. TWO shifts! Give the guy two or three games with are best players. What's the harm in that? It's not like he's gonna do worse then cleary, miller, Sammy etc

Holland is the guy you need to point fingers at. He has done **** to improve this team lately. I always liked the saying "GM's fire coaches before people catch on that its their fault"  Babcock is a great coach trying to coach a team full of plugs.

I agree that a lot of the blame should be on holland. But please tell my why nyquist didn't play today knowing that we lost a tun of offense in zetterberg. Or why Sammy was ahead of brunner in the lineup today even tho brunner is our 2nd leading scorer and has been busting his ass the last 5 games.

You can blame Kenny which yes definitely he deserves, but babs should take some blame as well for the lines he puts together.
