Dude, seriously? I came here for help and don't need bashed. It's just i'm not smooth with the chicks.

I went through a really bad divorce and since then it's been rough to get back on my feet. I figured people who share the same passion as me would be able to help me out in other areas of my life. I'm lonely and tired of it.

Unless you want to go to another base, most girls are going to perceive what you think of as a "back rub" as a "feeling up", and either are going to respond in wanting to get boned, or being more like "hands off".

Like you, I'm more of a touchy-feely person, back rubs, foot rubs, I'm severely ADHD so I like to keep my hands busy, and hell, I give hugs to my guy friends without remorse, but what matters most is how they perceive it, not just you. If you keep running into the same scenario I'd say just no more back rubs unless it's something they're obviously okay with and won't take the wrong way.

It's all about what you are comfortable with. Personally, I like a challenge, and I like responsibility. I've been in the same situation, in some cases propositioned, only to have doubts about why it was so easy and my gut feeling turned out to be right later seeing the same chick pregnant or seeing her with some pretty f***ed up crackhead guys down the road.

It would be easy to just follow your instincts, give her a good ride, and wish her good luck, but who knows, maybe you'd be yet another transmitter of HPV or herpes or some s***.

Dude I hear ya there. I've had the worst luck though. Girl after that our first date we went back to her place and I offered her a backrub and apparently that is code for 'sex' and she totally denied me. Had no clue, I really just wanted to relax her. So she started calling me "creepy" too.
