#2207896 Yet another lawsuit filed against Bert

Posted by IllinoisRedWingsFan on 16 September 2011 - 02:36 PM

I hope Bert wins this one to be honest. He paid the $2 Million to the family and it is time to move on. I hope this one gets laughed out of court.

#2206544 Crosby's 2012 Season now in Question

Posted by IllinoisRedWingsFan on 07 September 2011 - 09:53 AM

I'm wondering now if the presser will be cancelled in light of what happened with Lokomotiv. Crosby's will he/won't he BS pales in comparison to importance of that.

If he was smart he would but it's Crosby were talking about.

While I am not a Crosby fan I hope he can continue playing because as someone who had migraine headache's when I was little headache's in general stink.

#2199429 Chris Osgood announces retirement

Posted by IllinoisRedWingsFan on 19 July 2011 - 12:27 PM

Thanks for the memories Chris! One of the best Red Wings of all time. I know not talent wise but as a team player he was something else and I am saying that as a good thing.

#2198995 Blackhawks star Kane has fractured wrist

Posted by IllinoisRedWingsFan on 18 July 2011 - 12:03 AM

Kane is an overrated *******. Toews, Sharp, Hossa, and Bolland are all better forwards on the Hawks alone. If he were a Red Wing, Kane would be competing for the #5 spot with Cleary, Hudler, Bertuzzi, and Holmstrom.

Scratch Hudler out and I'd agree with you. Also we met the unofficial quota of having one Hudler mention per thread.

Nice!

#2198004 2012-13 Realignment Leak?

Posted by IllinoisRedWingsFan on 11 July 2011 - 10:51 PM

I am not a fan of the idea of moving to the East at all. I really think if they do that Columbus will go to the East and we will stay in the West in a newly formed Midwest/Central Division.

#2194263 Wings sign D Mike Commodore to 1-year, $1m contract

What is wrong with Ken Holland???? This is just DUMB!

Ken Holland better do something BIG tomorrow.

#2186185 SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

Posted by IllinoisRedWingsFan on 16 June 2011 - 12:41 PM

I was talking about this with a student in my summer class this morning and he put it best "This is so embarrassing for them it isn't even funny anymore."

To be honest I am NOT surprised that Vancouver fans would boo Thomas. I understand why they'd boo Bettman but come on don't boo Thomas.

#2179947 Ken Holland: Open to trade to replace Rafalski

Posted by IllinoisRedWingsFan on 26 May 2011 - 11:35 AM

Couple of thoughts
1. Shea Weber WILL NOT come to Detroit. He will stay in Nashville because if they don't Nashville's franchise will be drastically changed forever I think and not in a good way.
2. IF the Wings trade for Brian Campbell Trade that means Kenny Boy should be fired. That would be an awful move. I know several Hawks fans that went Campbell gone and they even admitted that any GM stupid enough to trade for him needs to go.
3. I would LOVE to see Ken sign Bieksa or Wisnieski.

#2174669 Our last playoff berth?

I would say Columbus or Nashville would switch personally if you base it on logic. Detroit has way too much of a following in the West.

#2174605 Changes in the offseason

Posted by IllinoisRedWingsFan on 12 May 2011 - 11:52 PM

Get rid of Filppula? No way - that guy was the reason the Wings won game 6. Granted, i'd like to see his point totals closer to 50 per season, but what he does defensively and on the PP makes him worth 3.5 mil, especially in this league.

I don't know what to do about Salei. I wasn't impressed during the regular season, but I REALLY liked his game during the playoffs. Solid solid player, and he ate up a lot of valuable ice time. Then again, it might be time to let Kindl or even Brenden Smith step up.

I've always liked Ericsson but I don't know if its worth bringing him back for more than 1.5 mil. I'd hate to see him go to another team. I bet the Wings keep him.

What do you guys think about a guy like James Wisniewski? He makes the D a lot meaner, and he is only 27. Not sure what kind of money he would command, but he has decent numbers, a mean streak, and he's young (by Red Wing standards).

Anyways, it should be an interesting offseason. Looks like that was it for guys like Draper, Holmstrom, Modano, and Osgood.

I would keep Fippula without a doubt and hopes he can start preforming to his potential.

Wisniewski I like him and I think we need a fresh set of legs under him.

My thoughts with Lindstrom. If he wants to come back let him...

If Hudler comes back next season, Holland should be fired.

No kidding! Isn't he stuck with us for one more year unless we can trade him?
