With all due respect, I would not count on the Wings moving to the Eastern Conference. Quebec City is in the process of building a new arena with the sole purpose of attracting an NHL team. For those unfamiliar with Quebec City, the Nordiques played there until they moved to Denver, and became the Colorado Avalanche. This could happen as early as 2012.

I'm a little shocked nobody has mentioned Teemu Selanne.

The Wings are going to do it. I believe in them. I even changed my facebook avatar to a Red Wing logo.

Vancouver Media already playing "wings too old" card
Jets4Life replied to Winger19's topic in General
Maybe the Wings should play the "Luongo always chokes in the playoffs" card. -
Eight times in NHL history a team has came back from a 3-0 deficit. I am not too sure who all these teams were, but there is a pattern that favours the Wings: 1. LOST : RANGERS vs Boston, 1939 (Rangers lose) 2. WON : TORONTO vs Detroit, 1942 (Maple Leafs win) 3. LOST : DETROIT vs Toronto, 1945 (Red Wings lost) 4. WON : ISLANDERS vs Pittsburgh, 1975 (Islanders win) 5. LOST : ISLANDERS vs Philadelphia, 1975 (Islanders lose) 6. WON : PHILADELPHIA vs, Boston, 2010 (Flyers win) 7, LOST : CHICAGO vs Vancouver, 2011 (Blackhawks lose) 8. WON? DETROIT vs San Jose, 2011 So if the pattern continues, the Wings will head to Vancouver to play the Canucks on the weekend! Can someone help me fill in the blanks? *edit: thanks, Demolition man for the update. ** double edit: thanks 13GoWings40

Crosby's family trying to convice him to retire?
Jets4Life replied to Rick Zombos Ghost's topic in General
The people that say Crosby is faking his injury are obviously a bunch of loser who have never played sports in their life. I suppose Mario Lemieux faked Cancer too back in the day. -
Which team had the LEAST losses on route to winning the cup?
Jets4Life replied to crodley's topic in General
No team has ever gone 16-0 in modern times to a Stanley Cup win. To the best of my recollection, the Edmonton Oilers of 1987-88 went 16-2, which is the closest anyone has come to a perfect record. The Oilers went 4-1 vs Winnipeg, 4-0 vs Calgary, 4-1 vs Detroit, and 4-0 vs Boston in the Stanley Cup final. -
Positive Signs for The Wings in These Playoffs
Jets4Life replied to Mabuhay Red Wings's topic in General
The Wings are going to the Cup Finals this year, and they will most likely win. Reasons; -San Jose always chokes. They just lost vs the Kings and have to go to LA for game 6. In the second round, they will be worn out, and easy prey. -Vancouver always chokes. I admit that when the Canucks were up 3-0 the Hawks, I thought this might be their year. However, the Canucks got blown out the last 2 games and have to face the Hawks back in Chicago. It's likely going 7 games, and even if Vancouver wins, Luongo will be too exhausted for the Wings offense if they meet in the playoffs. -Nashville will be worn out vs Anaheim. Plus the Preds have never won a series, and are inexperienced in the post season. I predict the series will go 7 games, and if Anaheim wins, they will be no match for the Wings. In the east, Washington has a history of choking, as Ovechkin isn't known for his playoff heroics. Buffalo will beat the Flyers, but Miller can't carry them all the way. The Penguins won't do anything unless Crosby returns. The only team that can challenge Detroit are the Bruins, but the Wings would likely prevail in that series. So I am predicting a Stanley Cup Victory for Detroit in 2011. -
Coaches Corner April 23 Check out 6:10 of the video. Don Cherry on Bryz refusing to play in Winnipeg; "Is that a promise or a threat? Because the way he played in the playoffs, who would want him?"

-
I would rest Zetterberg until Round 2. I'm not trying to sound too cocky in assuming the Wings will take the series. I just don't see it going over 5 games. The Yotes just don't have the offensive power to compete with the Wings. Having said that, wait until the Wings play San Jose/Nashville/Anaheim/etc in Round 2 to play Zetterberg.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Next year if the teams meet again, chances are they will be playing at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada, Source

Do they not realize that this will only encourage visiting fans to wear Red Wing jerseys?

Not sure. I just saw the threads on Jetsowner.com and calgarypuck.com. I thought it was amusing.
