This wasn't just a big win, this was a MUST win. Howard decided to be Mrazek of last year, take over late in the season and pull out some clutch fkn wins.
I hate sayin it, but right now, all I care about is a Silver Anniversary. One more game is all we need for that and I can chill out, that is unless we start looking like a contender and then the playoffs are a big Fkn deal.
Im really happy with certain aspects of the team and very disappointed. Mrazek and D-Lark are fk'n amazing. Larkin will be the next Captain. Mrazek shows just how well he performs vs Howard and its amazingly impressive. Better yet, he is still very young and hasn't hit his peak.
Disappointment by a large margin is our shots on net. Remember when we easily doubled up our opponents in that area and if we were even tied for SOG, we were having a bad night and probably going to lose that game. Now we are lucky to tally 25 on. The other negative although its not disappointment, but the inevitable, is D showing his age and Kronner getting pretty soft from his peak due to the same thing.
I totally expect to make the playoffs again and not by the skin of Octopi teeth either. I don't think we are a contender but I cant complain with the performance we are seeing from a team with very young or old players on the team. Blash has change the face of the game, but I think some of his strategies are easily beat by more experienced coaches. He too will improve and I totally expect to see us trully contending in the next few years.
THIS is exactly the team Zetterberg and Datsyuk need around them to be successful. Not so the last 3-4 years. This clicks.
Oh hell yes. The team has a pop in their step that I haven't seen in years. Toronto looks EXACTLY like we did last year and we are looking like a brand new team. I dunno if its Blash or if its just the amount of youth on the team, but we are moving and we are making plays. Before these same guys looked like they were skating through mud and playing defensive hockey with spurts of life.
I love the look of this team, we are gonna do quite well this year.
That wouldn't help in this case. Once the play was whistled down, the Habs players stopped playiing. It's arguable that The Canadiens might have swept the loose puck away if the play hadn't already been whistled down. If you allowed it after review, then you'd be giving a goal to one team for something done outside of the actual playing time.
How about not blowing the whistle 2 microseconds after it hit him? Quick whistles go to the refs favored team, watch enough games and you'll see a pattern.
