#2422132 2013 Stanley Cup Finals - Boston Bruins vs. Chicago Blackhawks

Toots and Bert didn't have a history as d-bags?

Give me 20 D-bags. Could care less. That team full of D-Bags is walking around town with Lord’s Stanley right now.

Hrm, you are right... I could maybe stomach 17 D-bags with a Cup and 3 Captains and Alternates who exude class... I couldn't handle a crybaby captain though.

At least it wasn't Toews.

Lebrun had his as his second choice for it a few days ago, which is a jaw droppingly bad choice.

Kronwall's skate should have gotten the Conn Smythe, without it, Hawks may not have gotten out of Round 2. On a more serious note, without Crawford, Hawks do not for real get out of Round 2.

I was impressed that other than the 6 to 5 game in Finals, there didn't seem to be one game where he imploded even after letting in a weak goal. I was waiting for it all post season, a total implosion game.

Sorry man but I respectfully and wholeheartedly disagree. A Calder Cup championship in no way makes up for the fact that our franchise had three chances to put away the team that eventually hoisted. That is choke/heartbreak/salt in wound all over the place.

I think that Chicago will do what they need to to retain him, but why people wouldn't want Bickell wearing a Detroit sweater is beyond me.

Because up until this point we have managed to keep a roster free of d-bags... even Abdelkader is a pest with class.

As much negative attention Toews is getting, I'd still take captain serious over any player not named Crosby or Stamkos. The guy just screams Yzerman 2.0

I used to respect him until this postseason. I am sorry but his whining and mouthing WHAT THE F*** while caught on camera to refs about every call has just made me lose what respect I had for him. He will never be the next Stevie Y. I don't know but the class that the Wings exude must just make me spoiled on how I expect hockey players to act. He is basically just another Cindy to me now. Honestly, living in Illinois, I was thinking with Wings in East maybe I could try to cheer a bit for Hawks in West unless of course a Cup matchup, but after this year the way these dirtbags are playing (Shaw, Bickell, Seabrooke, Keith, Toews) not really sure I can ever root for this current team.

Also, Bergeron must have been pissed that Toews won the Selke (over him and Pasha) and had to show the Hawks how a real Selke player plays last night.

I'll leave this here, an oldie but goodie:

How was it legal for Crawford to hold Seguin's stick too when he hustled down to get that puck right at edge of trapezoid? Does trapezoid let you commit penalties without getting a whistle too?

#2420125 Which UFA would help the Wings the most?

By the way, Bickell has been put back on Shaw line this last game and might have been in game 1 too, and he hasn't been the same offensive powerhouse everyone was worshipping earlier in playoffs.

I find it funny after these dope analysts call out Jagr for being too old and tired to be on the ice after the 3 OT game, that he has basically been almost all of Boston's offensive chances in last 2 periods.

Can NBC hire some people who actually don't say the wrong thing 80% of the time?

Obvious interference on first goal.

Where's the guy who was criticizing me when I said Hawk's get every call?

And don't point to second goal, that was a no brainer no goal, the puck was not visible even once during the goal scramble.

Also, did i hear them say Milbury said play on Daugavin should have been penalty in game 1? Like I said in my post?

So Seabrooke can take down a guy on a breakaway and not a penalty shot? Oh right, it wasn't for the Hawks.

Also earlier penalty on interference in front of net on Bolland was a total dive. There was barely any force behind the push.

I almost was going to call Crawford for embellishment penalty, but then I saw replay. I agree with whoever said, we are going to hate Marchand come next season.

I was curious if everyone is still in the old cap level mindset? When we talk about 2 or 2.5 or 4 mil players of the past few years, I think with the whole cap being reduced by 6 mil, everyone needs to adjust those numbers (including the players and their agents).

Boston fan from North Boston called up Chicago station today after they had a Boston radio guy on. Was hilarious. He basically was calling out Chicago radio guys for trying to trump up the story that the Hawks were the Cinderella team. Boston definitely plays better as underdog so its in their interest not to let Chicago try to take that, but from every other logical metric, no way Chicago could try to play the victim/under appreciated/underdog when they have been arrogant d-bags all year with their silly streak (asterisk) and best record.

So, what I learned in last series was their whole disrespect the national anthem s*** isn't as long in tradition as I was led to believe.

I think TV announcers said it didn't start until early 90s for Desert Storm, although wiki says:

National anthem[edit]

It is a tradition for Blackhawks fans to applaud and cheer loudly during the singing of the national anthem. This tradition originated during a 1985 Campbell Conference playoff game at Chicago Stadium versus the Edmonton Oilers.[46] Jim Cornelison currently sings the national anthem for all home games.

Either way, its not like 50 or 100 year tradition. In my opinion, its disrespectful as hell.

#2418125 Griffins GM 7 - tonight

Posted by Rhah on 06 June 2013 - 09:44 AM

Do you think anyone is jealous that during a transition year, we still made it to the second round in playoffs, beat 2nd seed, took 1st seed to game 7 OT... and yet we still have a stacked AHL club who is going to the finals?

Or does nobody other than real hockey fans actually care what their minor systems look like?

It makes me smile really big though, I love it.

#2417618 WCF : (5) Los Angeles Kings vs. (1) Chicago Blackhawks

Posted by Rhah on 04 June 2013 - 02:01 PM

Darryl Sutter confirming what is fairly obvious: Mike Richards not playing tonight (concussion)

Thought it was league policy to suspend the offending player for same amount of time as injury? Why Bolland still suiting up?

They also wait until blood drawn/seriousness of injury to determine penalty/suspension. This is partially tongue in cheek because I detest that method of punishment, however, since it exists, why do Hawks get off scott-free?

I am sick of some of the Hawk's puck luck. Sure they got hosed by the refs twice, so did a lot of teams, problem is they get away with hits after the whistle with zero calls from refs or Shanahan. Then say we are playing too tough, yeah during the game we do, we don't do cheap s*** after the whistle.

But, we stink cause we couldn't score even when Crawford lost his stick. We lose a stick on almost every PP they that scored on us. Well, maybe half of them. They lost a stick against Kings, they just nonchalantly hand one to D-man, and then go get another from bench. Like walking on water.

Then Crawford gets bad bounce off glass and stacks the pads 10 feet out from crease like a goalie from the 80's and Kings can't get a shot into empty net... sigh

#2417222 Wings interested in Stalberg and Bickell

Posted by Rhah on 02 June 2013 - 09:25 PM

It was more of a conflict of personalities with the coach.

He questioned the coach on his playing time and Q was such an arrogant jerk that he thought he could give the kid a coaching moment and sit him while they played us because they gave us zero respect. If they thought we were a good team and they weren't gonna sweep us, he would have had all his top talent out there from game 1 onward.

They didn't even know how to matchup lines, they thought they were gonna steamroll us rolling 4 lines with little care about matchups like they are doing to the Kings and did to the Wild. It took Babcock giving Q a coaching lesson for him to re-learn how to coach with some actual strategy.

And this thread makes me a bit sick to my stomach, next thing you know, you guys will want to trade for Shaw. Puke.
