#2271235 3/17 GDT : Red Wings 2 at Sharks 3 (OT)

Posted by DatsyukianDangles122 on 17 March 2012 - 11:57 PM

Whatever, at least we get a point. I'd love a win, but I won't be enraged with a loss at this point. Boys played well.

#2246707 1/17 GDT : Red Wings 3 at Dallas Stars 2 (SO)

Hudler is playing great this season. Whether he's trade bait for an elite top 6 forward or we keep him, I'm happy.

That cannon of a shot will be ours next season :D

Infinite playoff appearances confirmed.

#2225085 Will Stuart re-sign?

Posted by DatsyukianDangles122 on 13 November 2011 - 12:46 PM

Trade Stuart, a couple picks (e.g. 1st + 2nd), and a prospect for Dustin Brown and Alec Martinez at the deadline?

Would be good IMO, yes we would lost out on defence but Brown is a great upgrade offensively and finally provides a winger that Datsyuk can rely on to bury the chances he gets. Martinez isn't bad and maybe they want something more for him, but I do think we need to at least grab some sort of Dman in the deal.

This trade is good for both teams IMO, gives LA a good dman to rely on (and maybe he'll perform better there - close to family etc), a couple good picks, and a prospect (e.g. Tatar) that could turn out to be great.

Gives us an elite scoring winger and a good dman.

Thoughts?

#2221626 Datsyuk & Zetterberg have been split up

Posted by DatsyukianDangles122 on 02 November 2011 - 01:56 PM

Bertuzzi should be benched. He is abysmal right now and does not deserve ANY minutes...let alone top-six minutes.......Fil was actually playing really well, why not put him on the Z line???

#2204945 Should Homer Still Be On the Top Line?

Posted by DatsyukianDangles122 on 23 August 2011 - 04:41 PM

I like that third line if it was more of a fourth line. I would roll four lines and let there be a slower heavy line in Homer Abs and Bert... but also would look to see if there were other options.

I love how Homer plays, but he always seems to slow down Pav and Hank, or anyone else for that matter. Bert can't be slowed down by him. (already moves slow) I would start by hooking them up and putting them against less skilled players. That is, the fourth line.

Franzen could be a choice too, but I would rather try to make him speed up rather than let him slow down.

Lets face it, Helm, Mursak, Eaves... they are too good and too fast to be on the fourth line based on your lines.

The problem is the second line has to suffer then.

I would keep Zetter and Pav together and put Hudler with them.

Make the second Fil, Cleary, and Franzen. That would be the least horrible option in my opinion. Let Anyone on the bottom lines switch with Cleary from time to time, and be prepared to put Hudler down. I would also switch Franzen with Hudler every so often to motivate them both. We still have anchors on our lines though...

That problem is unavoidable but we have to deal with it until a trade occurs.

Well I'm pretty sure the 3rd and 4th lines will be playing equal minutes anyway, so it doesn't matter in the end. You could switch it up and make Homer - Abby - Bert the 4th line instead, but it's not nearly as good defensively as Helm's line.

I think that we should keep that first line intact, because it did have that one scoring streak and we REALLY need Hudler to produce at this point. Maybe switch Cleary out with Franzen, but I think we need Z to anchor the second line for sure. If Hudler still ends up sucking on that 1st line, then we can shake it up and throw him on the 3rd. But for starting the season, I think this is a good lineup.

Hudler - Datsyuk - Cleary
Filppula - Zetterberg - Franzen
Mursak - Helm - Eaves
Holmstrom/Miller - Abdelkader - Bertuzzi
Emmerton

Sounds good to me.

Wildcard *******!

Commodore-Holmstrom-Howard
Filppula-Ericsson-Helm
Stuart-Miller-Kronwall
White-Conklin-Kindl
Lidstrom
Datsyuk

Eaves-Emmerton
Bertuzzi-Mursak
Cleary-Abdelkader
Franzen

Hudler
Zetterberg

I would absolutely love to see Hudler play goalie Posted Image

#2204612 Should Homer Still Be On the Top Line?

Posted by DatsyukianDangles122 on 20 August 2011 - 01:57 PM

No. In my opinion, the lines should be:

Hudler - Datsyuk - Cleary (This line was amazing last year and we NEED Hudler to produce in order to increase his trade value)
Filppula - Zetterberg - Franzen
Holmstrom - Abdelkader - Bertuzzi
Mursak - Helm - Eaves
Emmerton

And if Brunnstrom manages to make the roster, I think he should be placed on the top 6 in place of Filppula. But I don't really see that happening, so I'll stick with these lines.

#2203903 NHL 12

Posted by DatsyukianDangles122 on 15 August 2011 - 07:35 PM

theres alot of things they need to retool in gm mode.

1. player growth is unrealistic. u get guys who turn out to be all 90s offensively, but then are 50s and 60s defensively and athletically. and vice-versa or whatever. its especially bad with goalies. there attributes always turn out to be lopsided, for example insanely good puck control but terrible reflexes and athletics.

2. trading is ridiculous. i kno that some players are franchise players and teams would never trade them, but when u offer a team an 83 overall player and 5 future first round picks for one 85 overall player, its getting ridiculous.

3. simulation is terrible. i have no idea why they even included the option to simulate games, because no matter what u do u lose the better portion of ur games simulated and players like zetty and dats always do terrible statistically. ive spent ridiculous amounts of time trying to get good results from simulated games so that i can move through seasons faster, but no avail. simulation in be a pro is terrible as well. ur guy does terrible and barely earns XP while moving down the lines to 4th or eventually AHL.

they need to make the game better for the hockey die hards who actually r interested in gm mode and be a pro and s*** like that. they seem to only wanna attract people who just play there friends once in a while and wanna see a few big hits and glass break and crap. stupid EA

No it's not. If your roster doesn't suck, then you will win a good portion of your games. In my third season, I simmed every single game except for one against San Jose (16-1Posted Image) and my team went 63-17-2 with Zetterberg winning the Art Ross and Stamkos with the Rocket Richard. All I did was trade the usual Hudler + Kindl + 1st for Stamkos :hehe:
EDIT: I also snatched Doughty off of LA through an offer sheet after Lids retired following my first season
What they do need to fix is the stupid trading system (but then I can't rob all the other teams of talent Posted Image) and especially fix the contracts. Average rookies ask for way too much money. Brendan Smith only played 40 games in his first season as a Wing and scored 15 points, he was an 80 overall at the end of the season and wanted $3.2M :scared:

#2203897 Bold predictions for the year!

Posted by DatsyukianDangles122 on 15 August 2011 - 07:11 PM

The Wings have won 13 Prince of Wales trophies and 6 Campbell bowls. The Flyers have 4 and 6, and the Blackhawks 2 and 5, respectively.

Franzen's career high is 59 and he has only cleared 50 points one other time in his career, being last season. Given his age, injury history, and performance over the past couple of years I would call 50 points a "good" season. A "bad" season based on his past couple years would be 25 or 30 points. Of course this is LGW, where Franzen is expected to put up *another* 40 goal season, despite never having done it before.

Also, if you are saying Smith beats out Commodore for the 7th defenseman, he's still in the press box. Which keeps him in Grand Rapids. So I'm going to assume you meant the #6 spot. And given the roles on the team, it's likely Smith would also have to beat out Ericsson or White for time to make the jump directly into the lineup this year.

Notice that the thread title says 'bold' predictions? That's what I did. And I guess I'm wrong about Franzen I'll change that to 40 pts.

God, why do you need to s*** on everyone elses predictions so much?

#2199435 Why the Detroit Red Wings are headed for a fall

Posted by DatsyukianDangles122 on 19 July 2011 - 12:35 PM

Tomas Jurco everybody. Mark my words. This kid is going to be a SUPERSTAR. Watching him in interviews and on the ice, you can see that he has an INCREDIBLE amount of skill, but he has an enormous work ethic as well, and he continually says in his interviews that he's going to try as hard as he can to become better and better. Can't wait to see this guy in a couple years.

#2198555 Still some noise about Wings picking up a top 4 Dman

Posted by DatsyukianDangles122 on 14 July 2011 - 03:36 PM

Hudler, Kindl, and a 1st Round Pick for Weber!

Sign Weber for $6.2M

Then trade Emmerton and a 2nd for Wheeler's rights!

Get 'r done Kenny!
