I don't even know what to say. I think things like this make you put a lot into perspective. We take a lot for granted, that's for sure.

Unless it's to announce his retirement, I see no need for a freakin' press conference.

But he is the face of the NHL dummy... <_<

#2205904 Report: Wade Belak found dead in home

Posted by drumnj on 01 September 2011 - 07:17 PM

I think getting punched in the head hundreds of times with bare knuckles and the cumulative effect it has on the brain is more at play here, but that's just my opinion.

The Chris Benoit "effect"?

No doubt it is a stressful job - I consider hockey fighting more 'real' than boxing - it's bare knuckles and with no matt on the floor. I'm a laid back guy but I got serious shakes before and after the real fights I have been in over the years. Sure, they get paid well for it, but I can only imagine the stress involved in keeping that up for years on end, on a per-game basis.

boxing is a sport. Im talking about that hulk hogan bulls***.....trashy imo

This is starting to remind me of pro wresting, with these guys dying all of a sudden.

cept pro wrestling is like the circus, not real, and is no way a sport.

#2199161 Chris Osgood announces retirement

I am going to be laughing hard if he is healthy and has a stellar season.

Folks have short term memory issues as Osgood came off the bench in 2008 and well, there was a parade with that big shiny metal thing.

Anyone who thinks Ozzie sucks is clearly delusional. At the same time, anyone that isn't even the slightest bit concerned for stability at the number 2 spot given his health concerns is no different.

Too bad for us.

If we win one more game in '09, the Cup would be ours and the Conn Smythe would likely go to Chris Osgood.

That was just two years ago. It's not ancient history.

In the playoffs, I think Ozzie still has it in him to step up to the occasion if called upon. This is because he's done it before not that long ago. Could you say the same about Ray Emery or Ty Conklin?
