Improve? Yes. But you can't pin the stability of an organizations future on two FA's who may or may not sign

I'm not talking about pinning the whole organization on two guys. I'm just saying that it makes no sense to say that our future is any less certain than any other team and that it would have an effect on those guys wanting to be in Detroit.

This is one of those things where I know it would be a bad idea but I just like him so much.
I'd just like to see a Canuck get flipped like Gaborik.

The Wings are good at turning good players into great players.
We have some promising prospects anyway so I wouldn't be so negative about them.

"If it is so painstaking then why do you continue I click the links and post in the threads?"

Because the LGW forum at it's worst is better than most other hockey forums at their best.
And I wasn't saying that the wings can't improve but I don't think they've done absolutely nothing in the past 3 years. They've accumulated money by not overspending on players that weren't essential to their success for one thing. Maybe the Wings haven't changed as much as some would like but I'm not going to be so quick to write off the things they HAVE done (such as developing players from the farm)

I think you're underestimating how hard it is to "reload" like what happened last time when Stevie Y was on his way out.

I think you're overestimating how much trouble the Wings are in.

I think it's a bummer that Detroit was out after the first round...but it happens. We really have been spoiled with such great success and now setting records at home and making the playoffs for 21 years in a row doesn't satisfy anybody. Just think how many players would have sold their souls to even be a part of the playoffs and we have an entire team full of guys who have never experienced the crushing blow that is coming in ninth in the conference...
I'm happy with our team and even though it could be improved (what team can't be?) I'm not worried about the management ever letting this "decline" get very far.
If you wanna see a decline go ask the Oilers how life has been since 90'

Just because he doesn't eat the s*** sandwhich put on his plate by arrogant fans/management doesn't mean he doesn't cheer for the team to win.

The s*** sandwhich being....the team? the idea that the team is awesome?
I don't see why some of you bother being "fans" of a team that you hate so much about? this is beyond constructive criticism at this point.

I didn't know that I was only allowed a certain number of negs in a day. Learning a lot from this thread.

I suggest a drinking game based on the "new guy".

Any suggestions?

One shot for every misspelled player name
One shot per neg
One shot per condescending comment

Good luck liver.

Holy Jesus am I ever sick of clicking on a new thread, all excited to read something new and then seeing the SAME things posted by the SAME people. I still love LGW but some of the new posters (yes my post count is low but I'm not brand new) are driving me insane.

Also, number9 took the words right out of my mouth. "Can't win it all every year..."

#2301157 Babcock and Holland want to keep Homer.

Can someone please explain to me why Paul Gaustad is so highly though of around here? He doesn't score (7 goals, 14 assists), he doesn't fight (4 fights, 2 wins, 2 loses), he's not that big (6'5, 212 lbs), he's not fast, and he makes 2.5 million dollars. Presumably everyone wants him because he's a defensive forward who's good in the faceoff circle. We definitely don't have anybody like that...er...Justin Abdelkader: (8 goals, 14 assists), (6 fights, 2 wins, 4 loses), (6'1, 215 lbs.), is faster, makes 1.7 million less, and is a defensive forward who's respectable in the faceoff circle.

6'5 and 212 lbs isn't big?

I hope we acquire some guys with very simple last names since people on this thread are having a hell of a time spelling names like Datsyuk, Ericsson, and Filppula :hehe:

#2297987 Your favorite moments of the season

Some of Datsyuk's great goals and Jimmy being a ninja.
The game against Boston early in the season stands out for me, it had more of a playoff feel than our actual playoff games this year.
