I'd like to see the visor be grandfathered in but IMO things like Kevlar socks should just become mandatory for everyone. I see no reason not to considering they don't affect any part of a player's play (can't even argue vision like you could for visors). In a league that's always going on about player safety it seems ridiculous not to implement tiny changes like this that protect elite guys from crazy bad injuries.

You're very lucky. It would cost me about $1500 to fly to Detroit to go see the Wings at the Joe

I don't understand the cleary+abs situation either but seriously, ease up on the panic buttons.
Babcock is not an idiot and if he's doing something that we don't understand I'm gonna go ahead and say that there's probably a good motive. Wasn't long ago that everyone was bagging on Holland and Babs for the defense that you're all now praising.

I REAAALLY want to be the ones to break their streak but if CBJ were the ones to end I'd love it too.

This lockout makes me long for the days of complaining about Ericsson's refusal to use his size and Franzen's refusal to be awake during regular season games. Ahh, good times.

Some people have suggested that the owners could just replace their cattle with different guys who are willing to play for less. I think perhaps these people should watch the NFL and reexamine the idea of replacing skilled people with less skilled people.

My hometown is small but we've had quite a few NHL players from here.
Jon Klemm, Brad Lukowich, and Rob Niedermayer and Scott Niedermayer are some I can think of off the top of my head but I know there's more. There's a few like Stoll that lived here when they played on our WHL team too but that doesn't count. I do feel like I'm missing a big name guy here.....
Oh yeah, and Steve Yzerman

I'll still support the NHL after this. Still gonna buy merchandise, try to see games, pay for center ice. Being mad at the league as a whole hasn't clouded my memory enough to forget that I love hockey a lot.
Hockey fans spend a lot of time saying "i'll stop watching if _______ occurs" but I won't ever actually stop until the game stops being exciting for me (so I'll be around at least as long as Datsyuk plays)

That's not true. In spite of having to put up with yet another lockout, Bettman said we'd come crawling back again because we're the worlds greatest fans, remember?
Whoops, forgot about that.
Here's another idea guys...we kidnap Sid and hold him hostage until Bettman agrees to stop the lockout nonsense/retire. Who's in?

Where are the fans being mentioned in these negotiations? Nowhere? Oh, ok.
At least the last lockout we could entertain the idea that with the new agreement would come lower ticket prices. At least throwing out empty promises showed that the fans were on their minds for half a second.

My heart dropped when that puck hit him but I didn't expect it to be this long of a recovery.
I also really annoys me that when Crosby was out I had to hear/read about it every few days. It seemed like every time he saw a doctor we got a full report (no matter how minor the progress was) but there has been hardly any major articles about Eaves since the day the puck hit. Just kind of bums me out.
