#2403795 Which team had/has a stronger forecheck Anaheim or Chicago?

Posted by jthiel86 on 13 May 2013 - 04:19 AM

I will admit I wanted a shot at getting Perry on our team this offseason, and was somewhat disappointed he resigned in Anaheim.  However, after watching this series, I've come to realize he could never be a Wing.  His attitude makes me sick.

Lol neither score goals....

Truth, but DK would've been in instead of Lash, which may have changed things a bit.  Helm, at this point I have no clue if he would make a difference.  Our third line has been the most consistent line we've had.  Imagine though, if you would, a line of Nyquist-Helm-Brunner.  Holy speed.

#2395091 Danny DeKeyser suffers broken thumb, out for playoffs

Posted by jthiel86 on 03 May 2013 - 12:49 AM

I am not sure about DeKeyser's value being overstated by posters here.  Babcock himself said the Wing's most likely wouldn't be in the playoffs without his addition to the roster.

edit: Sorry 6 posts popped up while I was typing this.

#2386308 Top 5 defenseman

I really hope Smith starts getting in form soon.  He's been tossed around a lot this season with different pairings, and I think it's been bad for his development.  I forget who has it in their signature, but it says that DeKeyser and Smith will be paired up next season.  I hope they are correct because I think that would be a good pair.

#2374240 I hate to admit this but....

If Edmonton gets Dekeyser I'm gonna be ticked.

#2367897 Why shootouts may be a bad thing

Kane's move is so jacked up.  I can't stand watching them in shootouts because of his bs.

#2359271 Babcock

Posted by jthiel86 on 22 February 2013 - 02:54 AM

I can't blame Babs at all right now. Limited number of "healthy" players to work with. However it's all about winning in professional sports no excuses in the NHL either.

It's always easy to blame the coach but in reality it always comes down to the players.

Opinion of course.

I won't agree it always comes down to JUST the players.  The players are on the ice, they have to perform.  The way that the lines have been thrown together and the changes come down to Babcock.  Tater should not be on the 3rd line still, just as Abdelkader should not be on the 2nd line with Datsyuk.  Datsyuk has enough of a task trying to drag Cleary along all the time.

#2324986 Bouwmeester opinions? Potential trades? *merged*

Posted by jthiel86 on 13 August 2012 - 01:41 AM

After the trade proposal you just threw out there I think you should be forever banned from calling someone stupid.

Bouwmeester for Emmerton and the chance to sniff Holland's taint would be an overpayment.

Are we that desperate for defence that we'd completely destroy our offence for a slightly better skating Quincey who would instantly be the highest paid player on the team?

I laughed hard at this.  Also, If we could get JBo for a sniff of Holland's taint I'd take it....as long as Huds is the one sniffing.

#2322923 Wings & Yandle twitter-rumors? Believable?

Posted by jthiel86 on 30 July 2012 - 04:25 AM

Even if he's not necessarily "a sure source", it is a rumor thread and it is fun to speculate no?

That being said...

Not sure I like losing Flip for Yandle.  I think, THINK, I'd rather lose Franzen and roll the dice with Brunner/Nyquist making up for his scoring.  At least we know we'll get major hustle from Nyquist.

#2318044 Six teams on Nash's trade "list", none Canadian

Posted by jthiel86 on 11 July 2012 - 01:56 AM

I like the idea of Nash, but it's all about the cost.  If we're giving up Franzen, perhaps, but not Flip.

#2312540 Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr

Posted by jthiel86 on 02 July 2012 - 02:02 AM

I hate him so much, I don't want to win a cup to keep him from winning.  I was hoping he wouldn't play another game in the NHL and instead A THREE YEAR CONTRACT HERE?!?!?!

You sir are not a very good fan of the Wings.  Tootoo is a Wing now, people need to get over it.  Just think of what he may have done to Weber last year had he been on the Wings?  I'm sure he would have done a better job than Bert did, even though Bert gave a decent effort.

#2284037 Nyquist in game 2

Posted by jthiel86 on 13 April 2012 - 12:46 AM

He didn't play Emmerton much because Helm's injury made Emmerton pointless. Emmerton was in the lineup so that Abdelkader could play on the wing. When Abdelkader was moved up to center the 3rd line, Emmerton became irrelevant.

Sheahan isn't ready for the NHL yet. Andersson would fit better.

Not trying to be argumentative, but why would they bring Sheahan in on the last game of the season if they figured he wasn't ready?  That's not very "Detroit-esque" if you know what I mean.  I get giving him a taste, but like another poster said, he brings size and the willingness to play the grinder hockey that Emmerton may not be capable of doing.

I do agree Andersson may be a better fit also.
