#2551272 Nestrasil Waived / Claimed by Hurricanes

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 22 November 2014 - 10:01 PM

Goal in his first game and apparently looks fantastic.
Lol. Please everyone watch the goal replay on the Colorado feed. Hilarity ensues when the guy tries to pronounce his name.

I'd like to say I'm shocked but I'm not ... He's gonna be a pleasant surprise for Carolina and with mantha and others coming up I'm not super pissed but dissapointed we couldn't even get a 7th round pick

#2550333 Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 20 November 2014 - 07:27 PM

I agree with all of you.  I want Weiss to do great. I hope he does, we've already wasted a year of his contract, and so far this season, he hasn't been able to play.  I really think the potential of a VERY healthy Weiss lined up with Nyquist on his wing could be a nice combo.  I am just so, so tired of waiting and waiting for a player X to get healthy and then hope he can return to form.  This is the reason Holland doesn't do anything on the market to improve his team.  He traded perhaps our top prospect last year because everyone was hurt, he had to, but it was still an overpayment especially since Legwand went on to another team.  He had to lose Nestrasil because he is hoping Weiss comes back 100% and scores 30 goals again.  Plus, we had no room because of the Cleary signing.  I hope that Weiss does come back and returns to form, but it just seems like its a far fetched wish that will never happen...

Scores 30 goals again? Again? Try never as in 0 30 goal seasons for weiss , had one 28 goal season and after that his highest is 21 .... At this point I'd be happy with a 40 pt season from weiss till he takes a hike

He was overrated when we signed him and will continue to be till he leaves ... I'm counting on mantha/pulkkinen/athanasiou and others coming down the road to help this team , not weiss

Weiss will likely play if Franzen can't go tomorrow.

Weiss will likely play if Franzen can't go tomorrow.

God help us

f***en idiots think morgan reilly is the next bobby orr , toronto shouldn't be saying s*** about our prospects

#2537847 Predictions for the DRW 2014-15 Season!

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 30 September 2014 - 02:32 PM

Prob dillusional cause I'm a die hard wings fan but I'm gonna choose to be optimistic and say we will surprise the hockey world (minus most wings fans) and get some luck with the injuries for once and have our kids step it up big time and finish 1st in our division

Zetterberg datsyuk weiss Franzen Tatar nyquist will all get 20+ Goals (2 of those 30+)

Sheahan jurco helm will get 15-20+

One or 2 of ouellet sproul backman marchenko will be a regular by seasons end and solidify our defense

#2536741 Has hakan Andersson done it again ?

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 22 September 2014 - 01:49 PM

I hope so.
I'd love to have another holmstrom pan out.
I don't know how well they scouted the other late guys, but it'd be awesome to have vahatalo, ehn, or kadeykin pan out as top six or even top 9 players.
Having a 6'3-6'5 center would be amazinggggg to have with the possibility of having Jurco, tats, Nyquist, mantha, or pulks on the wing.
I know its highly unlikely any of them become stars, but its hard not to get excited about them simply because theyre hakan choices, who are huge.

Nobody thought datsyuk zetterberg or lidstrom would be stars when we got them , or Franzen would be a 30 goal scorer and playoff performer(even though he hasn't been great of late)

I'm sure we go some forwards that will/can turn out to be stars

Mantha comes to mind obviously ... Nyquist if he continues his tear ... I see a lot of guys with tons of potential upfront ,not all will make it , some might need to get traded but I can't remember a time we had prospects this good and deep in our system

Star potential goalie in mrazek .... Backman ouellet sproul marchenko in the back end

The future looks bright in detroit

#2536548 Regner: Next year could be Babcock's last

I personally think this is babcocks last year in detroit ... I'd be shocked to see him back

#2536377 Dekeyser signed. 2 yrs $2.187 million AAV

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 16 September 2014 - 07:54 PM

Glad that's done with ... Contracts low is say but that's only cause it's a 2 yr deal I'd expect him to get 4-5 per next contract if he keeps progressing

#2518947 Next Seasons Needs/Team Future

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 02 May 2014 - 06:27 PM

I haven't read most of this thread; so I apologize if my post is off subject of the current conversation. But I feel as if a there is a perfect trade opportunity to fill the current needs of the team.
Buffalo is in full rebuild mode as of right now. There have been rumors over the past two seasons about them being willing to trade Tyler Myers. They also acquired Chris Stewart in the Miller/Ott trade. I'm not positive about it, but from what I've gathered, they acquired him in the trade to be another trading chip.
Tyler Myers is a young, giant, right-handed defenseman, whom is oozing with potential. He's obviously struggled since his rookie champaign; but he has shown that he can be a dominating shutdown defenseman if put in the right situation.
I know a lot of people have issues with Stewart... but he can be the perfect power forward for our team. He's big, right-handed, young, scores, fights, intimidates, etc... He's been quite inconsistent over his career, so far; but he's young enough to where that can be fixed with the right coach. And we do have the right coach for that.
Unfortunately it would probably take an astronomical return to get both of them from Buffalo. It would probably take AT LEAST our 1st round pick, one of Tatar/Jurco, one of Sproul/Ouellet, hopefully Franzen and/or Kindl, and either another good prospect or a good established veteran.
That is a lot to give up for two players, but I think it would be well worth it. It would fill our two biggest needs now, and in the future. Luckily we finally have a great and deep prospect pipeline, to where we can realistically pull of a blockbuster like this without destroying our farm/future.
This is my hypothetical version of what I'd love to see:
2014 1st Round Pick
2015 3rd Round Pick
Thomas Tatar
Xavier Ouellet
Johan Franzen
Jakub Kindl
Joakim Andersson
Tyler Myers
Chris Stewart
2014 2nd Round Pick (I'd do the trade even if they aren't willing to give us this pick)
Thoughts? Too much to give? Not enough to receive? Horrible idea? Great idea that perfectly fills ours needs? ...... personally, I think it's the perfect two pieces that could be obtainable. The other perfect team to make a similar trade with if this wouldn't work is with Winnipeg... Bogosian and Kane. But I feel as if that would cost us more than the trade I proposed. Also, I apologize for making such a huge post!
Make a blockbuster with Buffalo that would give us Chris Stewart and Tyler Myers. Two young right-handed players whom are oozing with potential. In my opinion, it perfectly fills our two biggest needs.

I like myers but man that's a hell of a lot to give up so I'd pass

#2517354 Grand Rapids Griffins - defend the cup

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 26 April 2014 - 07:00 PM

Grand Rapids is gonna repeat I'm calling it now ... That lineup is ridiculously good

#2517343 Was Legwand worth it?

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 26 April 2014 - 06:52 PM

As the title asks, the Wings gave up a center a lot of scouts characterized as being as close to the next Zetterberg as there can be and a second for a 4th liner and 5 games in the playoffs. Was it worth the cost to keep the streak alive? Or should they have trusted the kids? Thoughts?

If your asking then you know the answer

We got No choice but to accept we got seriously raped in that deal .... I sure as hell don't wanna see legwand return to detroit among a few other guys

Time to let the kids fly

I like how Jarnkrok is already being called the next Zetterberg after 12 games in the NHL.

I like how our saviour was a 4th liner here

I said he was a good 3rd line center on most good nhl teams and got sh*t by some ... Can't even crack the top 3 in detroit

Adios legwand

So spend it bud.
Sorry but if you spend the money, you get to do what you want with it.
Don't talk the talk if you can't afford to walk the walk.

I don't live in detroit

Expected this ... Babcock is in love with him

Maybe with a lot of hard work and determination he will continue his goalless streak going into year 3
