#2618091 Free agents this off season

Blues need a goalie like Crawford. Makes the big saves when they need it but is okay when untested for the majority of the game. This is Howard's weakness. If he's not getting action chances are he'll give up some untimely, bad goals. But on the other hand he can be phenomenal when we're being badly outplayed

Oh I'd trade howard in a heartbeat and sign a veteran goalie or trade for one

Not looking at the lineup and prospects but I'd consider something like

Howard nyquist helm smith

Shattenkirk backes Rattie

#2617994 Phil Kessel Traded to Penguins

Pittsburgh didn't give up maata pouliot or sutter ... They got a steal for kessel

#2617682 Weiss bought out (confirmed)

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 30 June 2015 - 07:02 PM

Oh look after the ridiculous Mantha hype now it's Larkin .. This team isn't going anywhere so why not let him get used to the pro game in the ahl and call him up for a few games here and there
Best of luck to Weiss

I got high hopes for larkin but I agree , unless it's a bonfide star rookie I always prefer they start down for one year ... Let's see how larkin does there , if he dominates the game in all aspects and has like 55 pts in 50 games let's say then I'm all for giving him a call up and see what happens

But I think he needs to start down and dominate with the other kids

#2617480 Alexander semin being bought out

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 30 June 2015 - 11:45 AM

I know he's been a disaster last few years but if he's willing to sign a one year deal for like 2 million I sign him in a heartbeat and put him with pavel datsyuk and hope he gets 30-40 goals again

If there's one fellow russian that'll get him going again, on the ice and off it's pavel

#2616613 Dougie hamilton to calgary

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 26 June 2015 - 02:56 PM

Boston is on the verge of some tough times. I don't understand what they are doing at all. I get that they have to shed salary, but why Hamilton? I mean, good for us that Boston becomes a weaker team. But I guess firing their previous GM did nothing to change trading away their youth.

It's just ridiculous , Couldnt they of just made a qualifying offer and try to resign him longterm during the season ?

Seidenberg, smith,Marchand, lucic are all guys they could of gotten rid of instead

There f***ed in a few years

That's a ridiculous contract soderberg got for a 40pt guy ... Can't understand colorado

I want no part of any ufa's at this point

#2615969 Looking ahead to expansion draft ... If Vegas comes to the nhl etc

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 24 June 2015 - 05:43 PM

I'd imagine we would definitely go with protecting only Mrazek in goal if they go about the expansion draft in a similar manner. Is it just unprotected main roster players that are up for draft? It would be garbage if they could poach players from junior and GR as well. I'd rather they just get thrown in with the basement dwelling teams for draft lottery day than to get a s*** at poaching other franchise's prospects.

Ya I'm pretty sure ahl players are out of the question

#2615473 Players who might be available due to teams cap issues

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 20 June 2015 - 01:32 PM

Yandle is a ufa in one year and if he was that great in ny they wouldn't be willing to get rid of him right away

No interest giving up mantha,1st + for one season

#2615371 Will Wings Revisit Signing Phaneuf?

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 19 June 2015 - 08:13 PM

Khan says Wings are no longer interested in Phaneuf.  I'm betting Babcock nixed any deal, like most of us believed he would.

Babcock or not I'm glad we're stepping away from Phaneuf

#2614952 2015 Draft

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 17 June 2015 - 02:35 PM

Athanasiou got a broken jaw, couldn't eat solid food for weeks, lost almost 20 lbs., AND missed more games than Mantha.  Yet he still managed to work hard every game once he returned.  Being injured might excuse the results, but not the lack of effort.
I don't see why people feel the need to constantly make excuses for the Mantha.  He was used to streamrolling weaker competition in Juniors, and he learned bad habits, and hasn't unlearned them yet.  It doesn't doom him to a career of mediocrity, but he doesn't get a free pass from criticism because he was drafted high and people like the fact that he's big.
To date, Mantha has been soft, lazy, and moderately disappointing.

I'm pretty sure you need your legs to play hockey ? As bad as the jaw injury was you need your legs more to play hockey than your jaw ...I'm no doctor but I'm sure a leg injury could effect his your play on the ice , with a broken jaw after sometime off you put your protection and your good to go

And again don't forget mantha didn't have training camp and exhibition games so when he came back he was already not in playing shape

And he finished with a goal behind athanasiou ... Not like athanasiou blew him out of the water (nothing against athanasiou, like the kid )

Before it was mantha was just good cause he played against 17-18 yr olds and now it's he steamrolled through weaker competition in the juniors ... Well he was named one of the best players at the world junior championships against the best of the juniors , what's the excuse now?

Mantha played in the league he was in ... It was out of his control , ahl is a tougher league and he learned from it and will get better .... Why you already writing him off after a injury ridden first season?

As far as I know without checking drouin didn't light it up and he was 3rd overall and couldnt even get in the lineup during the playoffs .... What a bust

To date mantha's played 60 games ... Far to soon to be judging him ... Don't forget Tatar was in Grand Rapids for 4 years

#2614939 2015 Draft

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 17 June 2015 - 12:55 PM

I'm not writing him off.  I'm saying he doesn't drive offense.  He's like Franzen in that way.  Because he's soft and doesn't enjoy working hard, other people have to create offense for him to capitalize off of.  Tons of very productive guys in the NHL are like that.
But your point is taken.  When 6'4, 200+ lb. guys like Mantha play against 16-18 year olds, they're super impressive.

And your point is taken ... Get a broken leg , miss training camp and a bunch of games and don't score a goal a game in a new league that's not his age group and let's all jump on the kid and say he's not that good

And nobody said mantha was gonna be a playmaker and drive offense ... Is pulkkinen gonna drive some offenses? Give me a 30+goal

Give the guy a full season to prove himself ... He's already hard at the gym training trying to bulk up not tanning and drinking beer , doesn't seem lazy to me

#2614932 2015 Draft

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 17 June 2015 - 12:17 PM

Probably.  If Dylark can make a plug like Zach Hyman look like a star, he should do wonders for Floaty McManthason.

Didn't see dylark help floaty mcmanthason get 100+goals and help him dominate the world juniors and get him named as one of the best forwards of the tournament?

Seriously think everyone needs to relax and see how he does with a full season under his belt before writing him off

#2614541 Wings open to trading Mantha and/or their 1st Round Pick

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 15 June 2015 - 04:08 PM

For anyone who understands french there's a video of anthony mantha being interviewed here in montreal adressing the rumors

Doesn't know if the rumors are true ... . He says if he gets traded to another team it's for the better cause the other team that traded for you wants you more

They said he's training right now for next season and he said he weighs 210 and his goal is to be 220-225 for camp and will try to impress the team and make the lineup

#2614493 Wings open to trading Mantha and/or their 1st Round Pick

Posted by nyqvististhefuture on 15 June 2015 - 12:36 PM

I believe Holland, based on his relationship with Babcock, already has a trade in place to send Mantha and our first to Toronto for Phaneuf.
Boy it sure is easy making things up. And fun too. We should both be like Cox and do this for a living.

Go for it ... You can Give eklund a run for his money

It would cost more to get the 3rd overall and ekman larsson .... Kindl Ericsson and smith are all 3rd pairing guys
