Bettman and D. Fehr's careers should be OFF the table. I will never understand the take my toys and go home mentality. So, because the progress they made didn't lead to a deal, they should scorch the earth and set negotiations and any leftover good will back to square one? There is a clear absence of common sense in that room...
Can someone explain to me why the one guy on the team with the white jersey's is wearing a flaming yellow helmet? lol
He holds the well-respected position of being the team's "Flamer," a position only recognized in Swiss hockey that is similar to that of "distracter" in beer pong. Although the Flamer is not allowed to show his breasts. True story.
Had a long response typed up that was probably entirely too personal. Moral of the story for me is that yes, I get being young and dumb--I once firmly fell into that category and made some monumentally bad decisions--BUT sanctimonious or not, there is a lot at stake when someone makes the decision to drink and drive. The fact that this is the kid's second go round with this situation is unfortunate. Some people don't get to screw up a second time.
So if the Winter Classic gets cancelled what are you going to do?
Realistically? Ugly cry. Picture the raging kid from the internet video where he tries to shove the remote control up his ass, only with less penetration. That'll be me. Two middle fingers to this lockout, boys and girls.
NHLPA has requested to meet this week, but refuse to meet on NHL terms.
NHL refuses to meet without precondition.
Our season is going up in smoke as the days go on.
"@DarrenDreger: NHL remains firm, willing to negotiate with the PA by only working off NHL offer tabled last Tues. NHL wants next meeting to be an end pt."
News flash: this isn't negotiating! Both sides shoot negotiation in the face before they even get in a room together. Nothing is going to get done this way. They need to stop sniping at each other through the media and put on their f$&@ing big boy pants and sit down at a table together for more than 90 minutes. Bring in a mod if you have to, but stop tattling on the other guy for being the meanie.
I think you are asking two unique question here, with different answers.
Who was the better Wing? Yzerman Who was the better player? Lidstrom
I totally agree with this. On pure hockey ability and skill, Lidstrom comes out on top. But the best Wing? Yzerman showed up for this team in any manner that they needed him consistently and reliably for over twenty years. Lidstrom was a great leader, but Stevie was The Captain. Love them both, and am honored that I got to grow up watching them play for my team.
