#2318869 Homer

I'd welcome him back one more year, I think he plays with heart and determination (not that skillfully) but could still be an influence on the younger guys. At the very least he'd be a great pest for the goalies on the PP, which is fairly weak right now.

#2318868 Holland Content with Current Roster

I want to go on record as not liking Quincey's face too....

#2318669 Are Russian players "really" lazy

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 12 July 2012 - 02:10 PM

Not just Russian players....many players don't care about the Cup. Most recently Suter and Parise, who will now never see it again unless they do a Discover commercial with Peggy.

A championship used to be the focus of everyone and was cherished, now these guys could care less about winning, as long as they have a bloated contract, are playing with friends and are worshiped by their fans. It's turned into the NFL and NBA.

If were a huge fan of gaping holes in our defense, then yeah, I would be content with our roster too.

It's never good to be a fan of gaping holes.....hockey or otherwise.

#2318109 Six teams on Nash's trade "list", none Canadian

Thanks, that what I thought.

Wonder if Kenny's looked into Lucic. He's not officially on the block, but, like Ryan, his name has popped up now and then and here and there over the last couple of years.

I could see Lucic being a good fit here too, always liked watching him play.

#2314682 Zach Parise agrees to 13-year, $98-mil deal with Wild

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 04 July 2012 - 12:28 PM

They both are going to make $196 million. That's more than Leipold sold the Predators in 2007 for $193 million.

Those two have more talent than the 2007 Predators....

#2314294 Could Wings still make a move on Weber this year?

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 04 July 2012 - 09:48 AM

Having to give up 50 1st round picks.

Hmmm 50 seems like it could be a gamble on our part....

#2313735 Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild

Was Tootoo carrying a 6'1" 198# burlap sack?

***this just in***

Former Red Wing Kirk Maltby has just shot down a corporate jet over Lake Michigan registered out of the greater Pittsburg area with a Russian military-spec shoulder fired rocket launcher. Ecklund reports that he's not sure what surprises him more; the incident or the fact that Maltby actually hit his target.

Maybe they just parked the jet there so Holland can low-ball Howson.

We are talking about an organisation that paid the Russian mob to help Konstantinov defect from the Russian miltary by forging doctor certificates stating he had inoperable brain cancer.

In Soviet Russia, brain cancer operates you...

#2313481 Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 03 July 2012 - 09:58 AM

I can see Babs hiding behind a trash can in the airport and following Parise into the bathroom....locking him in a stall until he makes up his mind.

#2313418 List of why Zach Parise and Ryan Suter should choose the Red Wings...

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 03 July 2012 - 08:02 AM

Because you'll get to hear Babcock say his version of "jackpot"

#2310360 Shane Doan to test free agency

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 27 June 2012 - 09:40 AM

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if this is just posturing to squeeze a little more out of Phoenix. I still expect him to re-sign.

My guess is he stays in Phoenix as well, but if your speculation is true, nothing says loyalty to your financially challenged team like squeezing every last penny out of them during a contract year!

#2310175 Adam Oates to coach the Capitals

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 26 June 2012 - 06:27 PM

So because another team signed him he's automatically a great coach?

By logic, Lebda is a great defenseman because another team signed him.
