#2313710 Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 03 July 2012 - 02:27 PM

***this just in***

Former Red Wing Kirk Maltby has just shot down a corporate jet over Lake Michigan registered out of the greater Pittsburg area with a Russian military-spec shoulder fired rocket launcher. Ecklund reports that he's not sure what surprises him more; the incident or the fact that Maltby actually hit his target.

Maybe they just parked the jet there so Holland can low-ball Howson.

We are talking about an organisation that paid the Russian mob to help Konstantinov defect from the Russian miltary by forging doctor certificates stating he had inoperable brain cancer.

In Soviet Russia, brain cancer operates you...

#2313481 Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running

I can see Babs hiding behind a trash can in the airport and following Parise into the bathroom....locking him in a stall until he makes up his mind.

#2313418 List of why Zach Parise and Ryan Suter should choose the Red Wings...

Because you'll get to hear Babcock say his version of "jackpot"

#2310360 Shane Doan to test free agency

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if this is just posturing to squeeze a little more out of Phoenix. I still expect him to re-sign.

My guess is he stays in Phoenix as well, but if your speculation is true, nothing says loyalty to your financially challenged team like squeezing every last penny out of them during a contract year!

#2310175 Adam Oates to coach the Capitals

So because another team signed him he's automatically a great coach?

By logic, Lebda is a great defenseman because another team signed him.

#2310150 Steve Ott - anyone interested in getting him?

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 26 June 2012 - 04:41 PM

Something the Wings don't have is that guy that other teams & other teams fans just loathe. A guy that gets under your skin even before he steps on the ice. I wouldn't mind having Ott as that guy on the Wings at all if the price were right. They could use someone that will get the other team off their game again...like a douchier/edgier Maltby like I said before.

I agree, and on a lighter note, I will now judge people solely on their scale of douchey-ness compared to Kirk Maltby!

Ericsson is a lock for this.

#2303899 Nick Lidstrom retires after 20 seasons

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 30 May 2012 - 04:01 PM

So wait....Lidstrom retires and Stuart waddles off to southern California later this summer. Holmstrom decides to follow Nick off into the sunset.

I can see it now....Hudler re-ups for a hefty raise, Hasek gets a 1 year $2m deal, we pass on Suter and Parise because they want too much money. On the plus side, now Holland can ink Lebda and Meech during free agency!

#2265640 Did Zetterberg lose his cup ring?

The 2011-12 ring will look better anyway!

#2264070 Post-TDT: Red Wings stand pat, no additions

Posted by turbowhistle86 on 27 February 2012 - 03:30 PM

Just in....Holland trades a bucket of octopi and a 7th round conditional pick for Crosby, with the condition being that Kronwall gets to paste Crosby against the glass no less than 4 times per practice.

Not confirmed yet....

#2262852 Ericsson out One Month

Why does it seem like injuries always screw us toward the end of the season? If STL beats us out for the division I could see us exiting in the first round...
