Fans can't see the direction the team is heading. Their frustration doesn't allow them to perceive things objectively. The rebuild is happening right in front of us. As of now I think we have two great pieces in Larkin and Mrazek- potential core players of the future.
Lots of questions on D. Can Green play efficiently enough at 20+ minutes a night? Can Kronwall bounce back and be a good top 4? Need another RH top 4 badly. Marchenko is likely over his head in the top 4. Adding a RH'd top 4 and ditching E really solidifies all three units
this is the for at time in a long time I'm not that excited for the new hockey season. I have zero confidence that the Wings are going to do.much more than sneak into
the playoffs and lose in 4 or 5. Holland's body of work the last several years has taken the team from contender to mediocre and he hasn't done anything to get them back to contender status. Only two non-rental trades, middle of the roster players signed to long term deals, and almost every free agent has blown up in his face.
Kind of crappy outlook as a fan. Only interested when they're contenders? Would you watch them be a lottery team like you wish they were?
I enjoy these rebuilding years. For this first time since Steve Yzerman we're watching a 20 year old kid be the best player on the team. Mrazek, AA etc. Our best players are the youngest on the team

Most would say no to that deal as Red Wings fans but I think it's pretty realistic considering all Winnepeg really needs is a goalie. It would be a tough decision for sure but I might pull the trigger on this deal if I was Holland. Wings have done well in the past without elite goaltending and goalie prices are going to skyrocket by the time Mrazek wants to be paid if he's a top 10 goalie
Imagine how much better it will feel to win a cup without tanking
Wings win a cup and they're right back to being the model franchise, doing things the right way.
It's not like the team will never be good again. The future core is emerging right in front of us. The Wings are a few young guys having breakthrough seasons away from being a very good team
All the doom and gloom around here is ridiculous. We're a doomed franchise until the end of time because the streak I think years ago when Dats and Z were good Holland sacrificed the future for trying to win with a somewhat mediocre team and I think that's why we are left with guys like Nyquist, Tatar and aging vets to lead the team. Now because of our struggles we're seeing high end prospects just starting to make the jump into the NHL. We haven't had blue chip guys like this in a very long time
