#2686227 Dan Cleary Gets Training Camp Tryout

Posted by joesuffP on Today, 11:14 AM

Fans can't see the direction the team is heading. Their frustration doesn't allow them to perceive things objectively. The rebuild is happening right in front of us. As of now I think we have two great pieces in Larkin and Mrazek- potential core players of the future.

Be very very happy if Vanek scores 50 points. That's best case scenario

I predict he gets sheltered by Blashill but solidifies the third line and PP

The constant change up of lines especially on the PP has to stop. Blashill has plenty of options at forward he needs to find something that will stick

You're setting yourself up to be disappointed in Vanek

This makes no sense Z was locked up long term and Dats resigned a contract

Zetts-Nielson-Nyquist
Tatar-Larkin-Abby
Mantha-AA-Vanek
Sheahan-Glen-Helm

Lots of depth at forward

DD-Green
Smith-Marchenko
Kronwall-E

Lots of questions on D. Can Green play efficiently enough at 20+ minutes a night? Can Kronwall bounce back and be a good top 4? Need another RH top 4 badly. Marchenko is likely over his head in the top 4. Adding a RH'd top 4 and ditching E really solidifies all three units

this is the for at time in a long time I'm not that excited for the new hockey season. I have zero confidence that the Wings are going to do.much more than sneak into
the playoffs and lose in 4 or 5. Holland's body of work the last several years has taken the team from contender to mediocre and he hasn't done anything to get them back to contender status. Only two non-rental trades, middle of the roster players signed to long term deals, and almost every free agent has blown up in his face.

Kind of crappy outlook as a fan. Only interested when they're contenders? Would you watch them be a lottery team like you wish they were?

I enjoy these rebuilding years. For this first time since Steve Yzerman we're watching a 20 year old kid be the best player on the team. Mrazek, AA etc. Our best players are the youngest on the team

Marchenko doesn't wow you but he's a lot better than any rookie defensemen the wings have brought up since Kronwall

It's okay to be optimistic people it doesn't make you a worse fan than others

Most would say no to that deal as Red Wings fans but I think it's pretty realistic considering all Winnepeg really needs is a goalie. It would be a tough decision for sure but I might pull the trigger on this deal if I was Holland. Wings have done well in the past without elite goaltending and goalie prices are going to skyrocket by the time Mrazek wants to be paid if he's a top 10 goalie

Wow that was vintage Datsyuk. This thread is going to be awesome. Might kinda start following Pav's new team pretty closely

I think the slow footed big defensive shut down defenders are a dieing breed in this league

We're calling Jurco and Smith offensive guys now? Based on what? Everyone is so good at pointing out the problems with the team without providing any better solution

We can't score so play Smith and Jurco more who also can't score... Rock solid logic

Imagine how much better it will feel to win a cup without tanking

Wings win a cup and they're right back to being the model franchise, doing things the right way.

It's not like the team will never be good again. The future core is emerging right in front of us. The Wings are a few young guys having breakthrough seasons away from being a very good team

All the doom and gloom around here is ridiculous. We're a doomed franchise until the end of time because the streak
I think years ago when Dats and Z were good Holland sacrificed the future for trying to win with a somewhat mediocre team and I think that's why we are left with guys like Nyquist, Tatar and aging vets to lead the team. Now because of our struggles we're seeing high end prospects just starting to make the jump into the NHL. We haven't had blue chip guys like this in a very long time
